Pretty much what I expected.

Boeser himself probably surprised himself with how good he was and can see himself in the NHL sooner then later. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he is in the NHL next season.

I could see a 50/50 NHL/AHL split. But you never know with this management.

A start in the AHL is probably best, unless he kills it at main camp, or even makes main camp. Let him play against men for 15-20 games then decide if his play deserves a call up. No need to rush this guy.

I'd almost prefer him to do a second year at UND. Clearly a good development environment.

I like the idea of Boeser going to the AHL. The biggest thing he needs to work on is quickness and explosiveness. I think the AHL will be a better place to do that than UND.

He has absolutely destroyed college hockey. No reason for him to stay another year. Get him signed and move him up levels.

I don't like rushing guys but when they've shredded their current level like this you don't want them to stagnate.

The Canucks do have a choice. He can't play pro hockey in north america until the team that drafted him and owns his rights offers him a pro contract.

I guess he could go play in Europe.

As I said it's not really up to the canucks. He can indeed go play pro hockey. In leagues comparable and better than the AHL even. It would also be remarkably stupid for the canucks to try to say no. Pretty much guarantees a trade demand.

I also think Utica would be ideal for Boeser.

How much fun would it be to watch Boeser, McCann, Demko, and Subban all in Utica next season? Would probably be the most exciting young team we've had in the AHL in a long time. And I could easily see McCann, Boeser, and Subban getting called up to the big club throughout the season as well depending on how they play and injuries.

Holy **** this is an impressive list of NHLers. I would literally take any one of those guys on this list as potential outcomes for Boeser. Wilson might be the exception, but even he's been a decent NHLer thus far

If you want to know something eve more impressive is that Boeser's goals per game is higher than any of those except for Kyle Connor.

Also the NCHC is the toughest division of NCAA which makes Boeser's season even more amazing.

Kyle Connor has much better speed and quickness than Boeser.

Boeser has the better shot and finish.

Kyle Connor was 6th overall for me...I still have no idea how he fell so far.

I forgot exactly where I had him on my list, but definitely top 10. He impressed the hell outta me the few times I saw him play.

No idea why so many teams passed him up, Boston 3x especially. Him falling was more surprising than Barzal for me. Saw that Larkin-like upside.

I liked Boeser too, but had him in the late teens. Didn't expect him to progress like this.

Wasn't he going to stay to work on his degree in whatever? IIRC somewhere I read he'd be staying at uni for at least another year. Can't remember where.

Although damn, I'm hoping to see him at training camp in Sept.

Very, very impressed with his progression.

Signing bonus more than pays for him to go back to college at any time in the future if it doesn't work out.

Ditto. I had him down as our pick in our mock but never expected he'd have a Fr year like this. TBH I'd have been stoked with anything around 18-20 goals and a PPG rate overall. Outside of Connor (who I had going 6-9), he's the biggest NCAA debut in years.

had him in the top 15 comfortably. said on draft day Boeser will be top 10 in future re-drafts.

Shot is too good, and has a rounded game.
