You can have Toffoli for less, as far as I'm concerned. Soft player. 5.9 shooting percentage worst top 6 in NHL last year...talks about ""needing to have better practices"""
and not very good at anything, really. When he was moved to Kempes and Grundstroms line, he killed the line...he wasn't making ANY plays with them and
just trying to shoot EVERY time he had the puck...selfish and ineffective.

""needing to have better practices""" - has ANYONE see Alex Honnold movie, FREE SOLO? I think the Kings should play this movie first day of camp...and at rookie camp.
Can you imagine Honnold saying he needs to practice harder? Dude does not even get paid for what he does...and did the single greatest human achievement in our time, OR EVER. Free climbing El Capitan without a rope or equipment..in 3 hours 56 minutes...3,100 feet of a granite wall. No helmet, whats the point?
I am still in awe and watched it 3 times. I think this could inspire some players, truly.

Honestly Toffoli isn’t that good, look at his PP and overall shooting %. No way does he command that ice time but he got it and did very little.

I’m biased because i haven’t been a big supporter for a long time. If we moved up to 3 OA alone by passing him iD be stoked. We could make a solid argument to the Hawks by talking yo how Kane as the ideal center for him but i can’t imagine them going for it. unfortunately. That boat anchor and his 4.5M salary is ours for 1 more season.

Completely agree. Toffoli is a turd that simply can’t be polished. Cut our losses and get his butt off the team. Give that prime ice time to Wagner or Grundstrom or maybe JAD if he surges at camp.

Thanks for the recommendation but it TT requires ANY outside inspiration then hes already a lost cause and needs to start thinking about his next career move.

It was pretty fun to watch. It was basically a 6 hour Q&A and got to see them in there "normal human" state.

He said he's gonna get Doughty on his stream even though he mostly plays Fifa. Also mentioned how Dustin Brown is addicted to a mobile game called Clash of Clans.
 
Dear god, Brown still plays Clash? I was hooked on that for years. I thought it was dying.

I still feel like there is some untapped offensive potential in Kempe. He's never going to drive a line, but I think he is the type of player who can effectively play anywhere in the lineup.

Things have not been very good for his entire time in LA.

Yeah its called the Left Wing lol.... Seriously, the more this kid has to think the worse his play gets.
Free the kid, and just let him play LW and I guarantee he pots at least 20 goals..

I agree with this but two seasons ago he did such a good job with Carter out playing Center.

That was a flash in the pan before both TP and TT seemed to have lost it.. Which is why im also willing to give Carter a chance to prove himself because the fact is that he carried that 70s line and made it what it was... Im sure the injury and atmosphere took a toll on him like many others.. I think the 2 biggest blackholes on our team were Pearson who is gone.. and Toffoli who saps any and all momentum a line might have..
When Kempe is allowed to play a physical, speed game he thrives and I think a passing, plymaking center along with another speedster would help unleash his scoring abilities...

Hence I keep harping about a 3rd line of Kempe - Amadio - Wagner

Kempe actually has a very quick release. The puck comes off his stick with great velocity. He's also displayed excellent puck skills at times.

Sometimes he lacks touch and anticipation, but his upside is obvious when you watch him play.

I agree he's better suited to wing. He can absolutely be a 20 goal / 40+ point guy.

He's only 22 years old.

Except the stint when 77 was out, he's played line 3 and pretty scant PP time. And people expect him to score 20/45 ? Kopitar couldn't score 20/45 pts on line 3 and scant PP time.
Every time Kempe plays top 6 mins and some PP time, his numbers are pretty good. Actually better than HALF the other top 6: 77, 73. 19. Team Sweden, 4 pts in 4 games again.
Last year, 8 pts in 10 I think. He will produce. Elite skating skills and other skills are top 6 skills - not elite other skills, but still top 6 level, but certainly better than (current play of) 77, 73 and 19. No one on the Kings roster could score 40+ pts on line 3...they can't even get the top 6 all over 40 pts!!

From what I’ve heard, Tofolli could gakk his way to the top of el cap no prob.

Not sure im right but if we do buyout Phaneuf and with the Ott retention would our cap hit for the next 4 seasons be ;
1) $2,205,000
2) $4,042,500
3) $1+Mill
4) $1+Mill

I can only find it at his full salary and not with the retention

Ottawa retains 25% of the buyout.

Yeah, I was just confirming it.

Which is actually kind of crazy. If a team retained (on, say, Lucic) and then the following team bought the player out, that could be potentially a lot of money.

Or we trade for Lucic at 50% and the 8th overall for Toffoli, then buy out Lucic. Here would be our actual cap hits:

2019-20: $1,812,500
2020-21: $2,812,500
2021-22: $2,062,500
2022-23: $2,812,500
2023-24: $312,500
2024-25: $312,500
2025-26: $312,500

Four years of a manageable cap hit for a great piece. Or hang on to him and hope for a compliance buyout.

Now what if we got two of Byram / Turcotte / Cozens / Dach / Caufield / Podkolzin / Zegras?
