A decision could come soon, as Bakersfield was just eliminated by San Diego.

Do you guys think Toffoli could be available?

I think he would be good potential pickup for Hawks and with Kings need of more D prospects we have someone like Chad Krys we can part with in package for him

Also is Toffoli more a RW or LW at this point?

I think they'd be open to move Toffoli, although his price tag has taken a hit due to his performance. He's more of a RW and hasn't played LW since his rookie season.

My guess would be that the Kings would want a young forward to replace Toffoli, unless they're confident that a guy like Kupari or healed up Vilardi will be able to fill in for him as soon as next season (which is unlikely).

Toffoli for Sikura + Forsling?

You would get both a young RW who got first taste of NHL last year to slot into your top 9 as Toffoli replacement and a 22 yr old LHD who has been inconsistent and is in need of change of scenery at this point. Even if Forsling plays better next year with Hawks pipeline of D he probably isn't in longterm plans

Rather have picks

The right to swap from 5th to 3rd:sarcasm:

It's funny you mention that since I think the Kings will actually attempt this. I speculate they would love to get Byram who is emerging as the third best player. The Hawks don't need a d-man based on their previous drafts and could still get their guy at #5. I can't see Byram getting past the Avs, Toffoli might be a little much to move up two spots but if we got an additional asset, I'd be all over something like this.

With so many of the players on the team having career low type seasons, I think it gives an advantage to individuals when trying to move them. It's not like Toffoli stood out as a particularly bad season. Toffoli still has solid average numbers and he's 27. I don't think he's hard to move. He's only got one more year on his contract at 4.6mil. Not a bad risk for a team looking for a shooter.

KINGS
3rd overall pick - Byram Bowen
3rd round pick 19 or 20

BLACKHAWKS
5th overall pick - Dach, Cozens, Podzolkin
Tyler Toffoli..

Actually we desperately need a defender like Byram to replace Keith who turns 36 this summer

Our system is strong on RHD with top 4 upside but weaker on LHD

Boqvist - RHD (Top pairing upside)
Jokiharju - RHD (Top pairing/#3 upside)
Mitchell - RHD (Top 4 upside)

Beaudin - LHD (2nd pairing upside)
Krys - LHD (Upside of a #4/5)
Gilbert - LHD (Likely a #5/6)

Also the two names Hawks have been speculated to be highest on (Byram and Turcotte) would both likely be gone by #5 so trading down would require something more then a 1 year away from UFA player

Hawks don't have a third round pick this year so it would have to be in 2020 which is better for us in any case. I would do this in a heartbeat. Sounds like the Hawks might want Byram so it is a moot point. Having said that, I think an attempt to move up two spots will be made at the draft.

If you are strong on RHD then Toffoli for Murphy + 2020 3rd rounder

Who is the Blackhawk's best forward prospect?

Who is the Blackhawk's best forward prospect?

Our top forward prospects are probably in order

Philipp Kurashev
Dominik Kubalik (You guys traded his rights to us)
Evan Barratt
Artur Kayumov

Talk is Kubalik will be signed an on Hawks roster next year

Our best young players up front are on NHL roster already

Debrincat (21 yrs old)
Strome (22 yrs old)
Kahun (23 yrs old)

Aside from those are vets up front

Saad (26 yrs old)
Kane (30 yrs old)
Toews (31 yrs old)

The pipeline up front is not as big an issue as our D situation because our NHL roster has those vets and young kids upfront while our D on other hand has two very aging core players. Keith is still solid top pairing defender but age is catching up to him while Seabrook has already fallen off

When it comes to guys up front Hawks have been targeting more and more Euro's in recent years to fill needs

Panarin
Kampf
Kahun

Soon probably Kubalik
