Just found out Forbort's birthday is two days before mine and i don't know how to feel about that.
When are fans and GMs going to understand the players already were paid to win the cups?
Not that you are doing anything other than pointing out what it is, this is such a bogus argument. Players salaries are like the stock market, you buy a players stock based on expected returns in the future, not what they have done in the past. I heard GE was a great company once.
Just like a stock, a team should be able to cut a player and their losses.

It's not like I am talking about life and death here. A player's salary is very much like a stock. Why do you think some of these young RFAs already received big pay days? Their investor is expecting their performance to be of great value in the future.People are not stocks.

I ran the stimulation once and the Kings were in first.

I'll believe it when I see it.

You reminded me of that huge conspiracy that they reuse pizzas. Blah!Combined birthday party at Chuck E Cheese!
Why is it when the players are going after a new contract they deserve every penny and it's just a business, but when their performance drops due to age or poor preparation on their part they suddenly become people we should care about? I don't mean caring about their physical or mental well being. I wish all of them the best, but I don't care about their finances. But are pro athletes people? Do we care about Toffoli, Carter, or Kopitar and their dogs? Do we care about their families? Do we care about what, for some reason, Teddy Purcell talks to them about? In a general way, sure, but we don't care. How many people want Carter gone? Why? If he was a person, we would all be more understanding about how he's coming back from injury, and he's older, and we should rally around him, and hope he comes back better next year. Because he's been through so much with this franchise, we should have his back in a down year. He's given us fans so much, but very few want him on the team anymore. Why? Because he's not productive. He's not a machine. He's taking time away from someone younger with actual potential.
Of course they're people, but we're all also armchair GMs. We're thinking about cap implications, and what the team should look like 2 or 3 years from now, etc. If we weren't so carefree about the lives of so many people on this team, we wouldn't want half the players moved to different cities to increase our enjoyment. We would care about the pride of the players currently on this team, not some unknown 18 year old.
first time i did it, it finsihed: 1) Edmonton, 2) Vancouver 3) ArizonaTankathon is fun but it really is meaningless. I did it 10 times and the Kings ended up 1st overall 6 times. I would love for those odds to happen but the reality is that I am preparing to end up with the 3-6 pick and if we happen to end up in the top 2 then great. I will be elated with Kakko or Hughes but I will also be thrilled to have Cozens, Turcotte, Byram or Dach. Every forward has Top 3 talent that we will be in a position to draft and Byram is a Top 2 in terms of upside.
All we can ask for are the tools to be there and then we can see what they develop into.
With Nico Sturm off the market, here's another name to keep an eye on.

They got Jack Johnson from Carolina in the past under similar circumstances. Might as well try it again.
It is essentially a three-hour day. You come here, you have breakfast and you start getting ready and the actual work on the ice is about 45 minutes if you average everything. What job really lets you do 45 minutes of work? That’s it.
“He’d be the big Mercedes,” Kings general manager Rob Blake, chuckled. “It’s a diesel too. Not gas. Way more efficient.
“I’d put him as the big luxury Mercedes. Ever reliable. Ever dependent. Always starts. Always good.”
“Kopi is quiet,” Leiweke said. “Brownie is quiet. Quick is quiet, and Drew is Drew. Drew is different. All of them are amazing how they all fell in love with L.A. from Day One. It doesn’t happen every day in sports.”
“He made me a winner – that’s what he did,” Kopitar said. “He definitely made me a better player in the sense of just competing. He had his methods of motivation, pressing the buttons to get us going. This and that.
Kopitar thinking it's a 45 minute job pretty much sums up his season and his captaincy.
Jesus Christ Kopi.I was going to make a joke about his usage but yours is better
Hey fellas. I have a question for you. Of our prospects currently in the NHL do you really see any of them as being the next group of core players? I feel Grundstrum and Wagner as the only two. Am I being to impatient?Jesus Christ Kopi.
