well that did not prevent him to scratch Beau (he of BB-Sutter famous power couple)

Then that would point to Crosby, because in this instance there's only two possible people that could be the bad guy here, Crosby or Johnston.

Hey now. He's much fatter now.

Are they filming the new Indiana Jones in town? The Rossi version couldn't be much worse than the Crystal Skull.

I have faith in JR. We'll see.

It's not JR I'm worried about. IF he had permission to trade him....

[/B]

I can't. I really can't.

But then I look at Craig Adams and how two different regimes find him indispensable, and I just wonder if the answer is simply that the coach sees something we don't.

It's not natural that an untalented fourth line coal miner well past his expiry date hasn't been scratched in 5 years. Five years.

I can't even think of another comparable and I've been watching this game a long time.

Well it's either that or Johnston is too enamored with his "forward tandems" idea and refuses to move away from it.

The line doesn't even make sense. Kunitz is a huge **** block in the way of Perron and Crosby. He fumbles the puck, can't create dick off the rush, and blows on the cycle now. He is also forcing Perron to the right side which is bananas coaching.

These guys preached putting wingers on the side they are most comfortable, but they have their best winger playing a side he isn't as effective at, so Kunitz can be on that line ****ing things up.

No common sense here. None.

Injured Reserve
This team won't even scratch ****ing Adams for ONE game, let alone move Kunitz from the Get Along Gang.

Crosby loves him some Adams. But, really, Adams is the most baffling thing ever, it makes absolutely no sense. He might have actual pictures of someone doing something really bad. Wasn't his father-in-law a Governor? That's some CIA conspiracy theory potential right there, and Morehouse. :scared:

Not trying to **** around...

Can you give me a legit hockey reason he keeps ending up with Crosby no matter how ass he plays?

Kunitz has played on three different lines this season, though. They've cycled that anchor through, probably in an attempt to make him do something, and then injuries hit. Who knows going forward, Kunitz might literally refuse to skate at some point.

Why does anything happen? Kunitz gets a free pass, Sutter gets a free pass, Scuderi gets a free pass, Adams gets a free pass, Sill gets a free pass, etc. It's a much bigger issue than Kunitz with Crosby, linking one thing to Crosby ignores the rest of the stupidity. This team is rife with bizarre decisions over two different coaching staffs related to Crosby and not, which is the biggest point. Maybe it is Crosby (he's sure looked happy with Kunitz this season...), maybe it's another star player being crazy, maybe it's someone in the FO (Craigers has influence, yo) but the widespread weird decisions point towards it being a coaching thing because it's so many things. Unless we want to say Crosby is behind it all, in which case I envy his time management skills.

Maybe it's the weakness of two coaches with their first crack at the NHL if we're seeing the same problems and Johnston has gotten worse as time goes on. idk, but there's so much stupid **** going on that it doesn't make sense to me to put any of it on a player, Bylsma was the same way. At some point you say the coach is crazy and that's on them.

Well it's either that or Johnston is too enamored with his "forward tandems" idea and refuses to move away from it.

God help them if he decides to go down with that ship, but he might. Except for Bennett, Bennett can gtfo because he's disappointed Sutter.

May not mean anything but at the game the other day in nj I watched warm ups and it just looked like Sid and kun are butt buds. They just pass with each other almost the whole time (yes cross iced flip passes, the same ones not working in games)

Everyone else was running more basic breakout pass 2-1 ones and skating hard. Sid and Kunitz did they own thang.

Idk if Sid does this with whoever is on his line, and it varies or something. I only saw one game. But it was interesting that Sid and him were so locked in on each other, but also so not with the team. Looked like a **** warm up to me, but I'm not a ppg career all star. I have scored more than Sid in the past month tho....:sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm:

I'd just like to point out how everyone hates madden on this board, but everyone uses his cliches and nicknames.

Can the roster and lineup discussion be kept in the Roster thread? This is supposed to be about media gibberish, not who Sid is paired up with this week.

Crosby "injury" update on tomorrow's show. Legit news. @1059thex #3pm

Putting injury in quotations has me awfully curious. Had no idea he actually went as far as to imply that MAYBE Crosby should be traded.

On his Penguins Live show he referenced this board's thread asking if crosby should be traded and said it was one of the dumbest suggestions ever...so I think whoever said he implied that was mistaken.

thought I posted this earlier, but must've been my evil twin...

i haven't seen this linked but maybe i missed it.

I dunno thing is i don't believe most of what these guys say. However, I think Crosby can go to the All star game, NOT skate and just do meet and greet stuff and not get suspended, but did not.

To know surprise there's some talk that Crosby's father Troy was in his ear to skip, so players believing he was upset about not being named captain could have some validity.

People see stuff like the bolded above and still read this site? The guy is a joke. Drama for clickbait.

Article on Sid from USA Today. Some interesting take aways, mostly about how humble he is.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...rosby-interview-pittsburgh-penguins/22813009/

"I want to think we will (play differently)," Crosby said. "In order to do that, we have to learn from previous playoffs.

"At the end of the day, it's still on us as players. You can talk about your system, but it's not an X's and O's thing. You have to go out there and compete."

The 10 seasons has clicked off very quickly for Crosby. He recalls Lemieux's youngest children, Austin and Alexa, helped him unpack and now they are inching toward adulthood.

"When I got (to Lemieux's home) I had no clue," Crosby said. "Once I got there, I remember thinking I was lucky to be there because there were so many things I had to take care of ... and then I had my learning curve fast-tracked because Mario was around. That was cool."

One of his objectives is to spend his entire career with the Penguins, as Lemieux did.

"That's a pretty tough thing to do these days," Crosby said. "Players move around a lot now. But I would definitely like to do that."

Kills any rumors that he's "not happy here". People freak out too easily. Any "unhappiness" vibes he's been giving off recently are 99% most likely to do with the fact that he's just upset with himself that he's no playing well. As an athlete that was always my mentality. You can get upset with who you are playing with, etc, but at the end of the day, if you aren't playing well and are making mistakes that are solely your own like Sid is, it's easy to be upset with yourself.

No, he definitely said it. And I'm talking about his 105.9 show, not Penguins Live. As his show went on he clearly became more and more irritated about the situation with Crosby not scoring and his insistence on always playing with Kunitz.

Saw this link posted on Perron

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=751512

Pretty good read

Interesting take on why Crosby is hard to play with

"A lot of people have come up to me and said [Crosby] can be hard to play with, but it has nothing to do with his game, it has to do with how you play with him," Perron said. "He'll expect you to be in a spot and that half-second that you got caught watching, the puck was there and you would be there if you played your normal game. It has everything to do with you."

“I don’t think anybody is content with where they are at this time of year, because it really doesn’t matter (how good your team is in February),” Crosby said. “We’ve been a pretty good example of that in the past.”

Best quote i'v read in a long time, i think this team finally gets it, regular season champs don't get you anything.

That's probably the snarkiest comment that Crosby has ever made about any management in the NHL. Wow, what a shot at the old regime.

What? What sort of mental gymnastics do you have to perform to twist that comment into an indictment of the old regime? That comment is completely reflexive/introspective. He's commenting about the players not being happy with themselves.

I'd never heard this one before:

http://dkonpittsburghsports.com/2015/02/04/column-penguins-oilers-contrasts-luck/

'I was in favor of Patrick’s firing when it occurred, largely because his methodologies lagged so badly behind the times. But no one should forget that he made a fine pick at No. 18 overall in Brooks Orpik, uncovered Game 7 hero Maxime Talbot at 234th overall, boldly traded up in the 2003 draft to No. 1 to get Marc-Andre Fleury and, the following year, would have taken Malkin over Ovechkin had he owned the No. 1 pick. He says that, and I’ve not known the man to lie. And man, talk about a bold thought.

I’ll also give credit for the Sergei Gonchar signing, which was almost universally mocked at the time because of the five-year, $25 million contract, but Gonchar became a rock for the franchise. It was an excellent use of payroll.'

Anyone ever hear this one before?

I mean, it would've taken someone who didn't give a **** about what anyone else thought, and, in fairness, Sid wasn't even on the Penguins radar, and the organization's center with highest upside was Erik Christensen.

But, damn that would've taken some ball.

No. That's the first I've heard of that.

CP wasn't afraid of going against convention at times, though. And he was pretty savvy. I can see him understanding that a big, rangy center with near-unlimited upside might be a better choice in the long term than a mostly-finished-product bull-sniper. LouLam said much the same at the time... so it isn't a stretch.

Craig Patrick is my boss's father and I know Craig and the Pens didn't have a very happy parting of ways. I don't know specifics but I know there was a lawsuit of some sort. He's obviously my boss so I'm not trying to press for information, lol.
