Yea, i've been checking out Sea Dog highlights and the team really blows now.
D'Orio is battling still but it doesn't make a difference.
Their D is especially brutal.

Well, two DFD 20s, an 18 year-old offensive D (Salda, who will likely get drafted in the 3rd or 4th as a 2nd time eligible), a couple of 18 year-old D who would be 6th D on most teams, a 17 year-old OFD who is still figuring out his limitations and a 16 and 17 year-old rookie who both joined the team at Christmas.

Is Lulea in the playoff picture? They’re in 9th place out of 14 but I’m not sure how their seeding works.

Gustavsson will probably join WB/S once they’re eliminated.

Went to see if D'Orio played a back to back tonight.
Nope but caught a Drozg 4assist game instead...

Pushes him to 43pts in 46games.
ETA: He's the team leader in pts by 8.

That camera work is completely insane.

Drozg I'd say is definitely a better prospect than his somewhat low offensive production would indicate, given that it's his first year in NA, he has so much physical developing to do, and his team isn't very good or skilled.

They have a round of 16 first. So, currently being 9th, they'd play 8th.

Winner would go through along with the winner from 7th vs 10th. Highest seed plays 2nd, the lowest seed plays 1st.

Will Gus be with WBS next year? I'm always foggy on European prospects and their timelines, especially goalies.

That's up to the Penguins. He's signed to an ELC and next season will burn first contract year no matter where he plays for. He was loaned back to Sweden this year and since he's still 19 years old, the contract slides this season but not anymore next season. I believe his contract with Luleå expires after this season as well so I'd say at this point all signs are pointing him playing in AHL next season.

I posted an article from a Swedish newspaper here a couple of weeks ago. It basicly said that their GM knows that Gus will play in NA next season, and working under that assumption towards next season.

It the went on about a rumor that they had found his replacelent and a deal was in place. But they couldnt make it official yet because that goalie were in the middle of the season with his current team.

Edit: here is the article.
Uppgifter: Ersätter JVM-stjärnan i Luleå

Its in Swedish, but google translate probably gives the sum of it.

Yea, i don't see why Gus wouldn't come over if he remains a Pen.
DeSmith is still under contract next season but getting him into the system, Donatelli can go with the hot hand every night+they have a ton of back to backs + 3in3's always. He'll play lots.

There'll be space if he comes over. Our NHL group will be Murray/Jarry with DeSmith/Gustavsson and ? in the AHL

I think it’d be like Sundqvist where even if he doesn’t come over he still loses a year off his ELC and waiver eligibility.

I remember reading that Gustavsson is coming over to NA next year to play with WBS. I'll try to find the article, but I thought that was confirmed.

The timing is perfect. No reason for him not to come over. Even as the #4 on our depth chart he’d start more than he would in Sweden.

He’ll probably get some starts in the A once Lulea is eliminated.

I think the real interesting question is who will be full-time backup to Murray - is it Jarry or DeSmith. Because DeSmith will be waiver eligible next season while Jarry is still exempt. DeSmith has been great this season and you can wonder if he has been good enough to warrant a waiver claim from another time come next fall, should he hit the waivers, and whether Pens even want to risk that in the first place. Then again, backup goalies aren't really in demand in fall via waiver claims as every team should have their goalie situation clear at that point, but injuries can always change situations (as the Condon claim by Pens last season show).

Thanks for the info.

Looking at Cap Friendly now and the goalie situation is looking pretty darn good. Jarry is an RFA this year, 2 more years of Murray, 2 more for Gustavsson ELC, 1 more season for DeSmith until UFA. They are all crazy young for goalies too. The only potential Snafu is that D'Orio, Murray, and Gustavsson will all need contracts for the 20/21 season, but its hard to imagine D'Orio will cost much at that point, and thats assuming he pans out.

As for next season its tough to call. I could see DeSmith being the backup to allow Jarry to get more starts or maybe they just try to split Murray and Jarry and limit Murray's workload. He can't seem to stay healthy anyway so Jarry and Desmith, and maybe even Gustavsson, will all get their looks. Completely spoiled in net right now, and Murray is starting to get back into his groove as well.

I completely forgot they traded Maguire ha.

Gustavsson's contract will slide this season so next season will be the first one of his three year ELC. He will be RFA in 2021.

D'Orio's contract will slide this and next season, so he will be RFA in 2022.

I think desmith will start and as soon as jr can get a fair offer he's gone and up comes jarry
