Petry’s cap hit was on the verge of being unmoveable. Look at his age. If he puts up another mopey dopey year we are cooked and stuck.Hugues: we need to make room on the salary cap.
*trades for Matheson that has a longer contract that is buyout proof*
WTF HUGHES YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!
Suzuki, Dvorak, Dach and Evans? Is there a reason we shipped out a young spare C? Do we expect one back in the near future?
Again, people forgot how bad Petry was last season.
Pretty sure Matheson is an improvement.
Still this trade is not making much sense. We wanted to get rid of Petry's salary.
It's why I was worried earlier this week when Hughes mentionned that he wanted NHL players in return for Petry....sheesh no we did not need more salary...especially for longer than Petry's contract.

Hopefully it'll be bad enough that Price will just quit and retire, if he returns healthy, and the Habs finish bottom 3 again. That would be all kinds of win right there.Pretty gross wow is our defence going to be next level trash this season
Bergevin made mostly bad mistakes. He didn't care.Petry should have been traded at the TDL before his extension back then.
Same goes for Armia , Tatar , Danault and Byron to get assets.
All bad mistakes over the years.
Waiver eligible I think + Not making the roster purely on talent + 750K on his AHL deal.Is there a reason we shipped out a young spare C? Do we expect one back in the near future?
I mean Petry was pouting like a 10 year olds while Wideman had 100sec of PP every pps. Wideman makes 2 points every 10 turnovers. Sounds good for Bedard. You mean Wideman who out-produced Petry?
That tells you where Petry was the I'd rather see Wideman on the ice.
Not last year he wasn't.Petry is A LOT better than Matheson, even when he's bad.
How many times does it have to be said that those moves are irrelevant.
Poehling as a throw-in is a risk most teams should take. Sure, he's definitely not a complete player yet, but he's young, quite fast and has the potential to be a cheap, effective 3/4C.Poehling is dogshit
Because he sucks. Why the f*** was Poehling included in this shit?
I've heard Matheson can open pickle jars with both hands!Hughes era starts with a controversial 1st OA pick, and the new Alzner on D.
Gorton OR Hughes ???Gorton does not do bad moves. (I hope not lol)

I'm honestly disappointed he's thrown into a deal like this.
