First two periods were very encouraging but then the 3rd period looked more like the usual vs the Hurricanes. Just not a great matchup for the Rangers.

The Hurricanes aren’t a great matchup for anybody.

Sometimes you just lose and you don't have to dissect the misery out of it.

True but Carolina has really owned us this year and would be 3-0 against us if not for Georgiev playing the game of his life. We are not very likely to get by them in the playoffs.

Carolina handed the Rangers their lunch in the 3rd period.

Seth Jarvis is a very impressive player. Carolina had him on the ice on the 4 on 4 in the middle of third period. Not bad for a player who just turned 20.

Carolina is a very good team. They lost in the conference finals to Boston in 2019. Lost to Boston in the bubble. They beat Nashville in the 1st round last season. They lost to TB.

Sometimes you have to lose in order to win.

And sometimes you have to draft like gangbusters and be loaded too.

Not on that line but on a line that works, I could totally see Kakko going off in the playoffs.

He's Jesper Fast if Fast had incredible hands.

At this rate, he'll be lucky to get a shift on the ice come playoffs. You need to play aggressive in the postseason, and Kakko has never shown that ability. His game needs a 180 turnaround if he plans to dress this postseason.

Jesper Fast has always been aggressive. He was the 5x players player award winner with us. You don't get that award without getting dirty.

This is a bad comparison.

I thought the first two periods were good, and they Just let Carolina come at them in the 3rd and didn’t have an answer. Carolina is one of the best teams in the league and I think they stood tall with them just let it get away in the 3rd.

YES! All hail the Coppo Kakko connection. Kakko looked pretty explosive on a few shifts tonight but ultimately didn't really make an impact. I'm really curious if Strome can get Laf going. He did a good job at it last season with Kreider with Panarin was out.

It's not something I say lightly. But he needs a major improvement in his play the next 8 games. Just not sure he is built for the playoffs. I think Gallant might just sit him.

I think gallant agreed with you on reaves pretty early. He barely got 8 minutes. Goodrow takes his place when chytil is back, which hopefully will be really soon.

There was a pretty clear line of when the team took their foot off the gas. When they played their hearts out and it was 1-1. That goal just took the life out of this team.

I’ll give Kakko a break because it’s only his second game back. But Laf is really frustrating to watch. Especially with how we was playing a few weeks ago.

I honestly do believe these kids just need to get spoon fed ice time to improve. Unfortunately for them we’re a playoff team so that’s taking a back seat

They wouldn’t have called Motte’s injury significant if it wasn’t in the day and age of the NHL where everyone is day to day.

People shouldn’t get their hopes up that he’s just going to show up for game 1 of the playoffs.

My hope would be the ECF if they got that far.
