Netflix is now interested in a mini series about this trade. It's called The Dubois Saga.

Denzel Washington is playing Dubois and Angelina Jolie is playing Cheveldayoff. There is also a scene where Jet/Hab fans go to war like the opening scene of the Gladiator....but with rubber hockey sticks and poutine catapult bombs.

No, he has never been on waivers. He came up as a center and the Kings sent him back to the AHL for a year to work on being a winger. This allowed him to gain confidence and was a much better player when he returned to the NHL. He has only been getting better ever since. Most Kings fans do not want to see him get traded for PLD. Not sure why Blake would do this. Actually, there a few stretches this season when he was the Kings best player. Led them in goals for the first part of the of the season. Wierd injuries kept sidlining him for a handful of games here and there and that really impacted his production. When he would return to the linup, it usually took some games before Todd put him back on the PP etc. If the Jets get Valardi + for PLD Jets fans will be happy and most Kings fans will be pissed. Unless PLD is ready to become a defensely responsible 70 point player. This trade would be way to costly for the Kings for the return of PLD and a 4th liner / AHL'r this year.

Only reason Blake would do this is that PLD has been a better player for a longer period of time. Valardi is close to being as good now. Blake has it in his mind that the Kings cup window is another 1-2 years before Kopitar and Doughty get to old,

Valardi has great hands, 2nd best on the team behing Fiala. He is a great passer and a decent skater. Really good shot that he his able to get off when off balance and he does not look like he can get anything on it. Solid along the boards and was one of the Kings best defensive forwards last year. I really have no clue why he would be included in this deal, which is why I kind of feel that he will not be and that it is all just rumors. He literally is ready to provide the same, if not better impact next year than what PLD provides now. At a cost of 3-4mil over the last two RFA years.

My hope is PLD does not cost the Kings Valardi and that PLD plays on the 2nd line with Vilardi and Fiala. Either PLD or Vilardi can be the center. He played center during the Oilers series this year and played pretty well. Both PLD and Vilardi played 5 playoff games this year and they each had 2G and 2A. Difference is Gabe was a +/- 0, while PLD was a -4. So why in the hell is Blake looking to trade him for PLD?

I am hoping Vilardi's name is being thrown out just like Clarke's was when the Kings were looking to trade for Chychrun. Many rumors had Clarke tied to that trade, which was nonsense.

Jets may want that, but that is not how the buying team sees it. If PLD agrees for 7mil per and the Kings wanted him, they would have to pay a pretty high price for that player at that term. If PLD signs for 9mil per, well there is less value in the trade for the Kings, so less value should go the other way to the Jets.

Not sure about that, Fiala was signed for $7.8M after being traded and is the better player.

PLD should not get a penny more. Something in between 7-8$M is his value.

I am not against PLD, but not at the expense of Vilardi to be honest.
