Habs being used so LA has to pay more.

Jets come out as the overall winners likely.

And Dach wasn’t struggling to advance himself and yet you all designate him as untouchable?

Huh.
I don't establish Dach as an untouchable or as a bonafide top 6 guy or whatever. But he is two years younger than Vilardi and has produced on par with him. If he stagnates or keeps getting injured in two years then yes, he'll be at the level Vilardi is currently at. Keep acting like a victim bud I'm sure it's worked well for you before.

Dach was not offered. Lol you guys have to move off that. If Dach was offered, this is already done and this thread would not exist.
My point is we don’t know who or what has been offered. We can only guess. The “insides” are competing with one another to break News first. Now we are hearing the Habs might still be in. So are they improving their offer to best L.A.?

No, they might still be in because LA might be out (and it appears there's only two suitors)

LMFAO!

Alright, time to officially bring Dach+ into the discussion.

Did I miss where the Kings were offering Byfield? Last we saw was Jets getting a deal around a RFA 41 point winger who's 1 year younger than PLD. From Laine+Roslovic to Vilardi/Iafallo.

There’s a difference between might still be in and getting into a bidding war. Of course Montreal may still be in. There’s no guarantee LA actually gets across the line with a trade that makes sense. They only have so much cap and they still have other glaring areas they need to address.

Cheveldayoff should be fired and blasted into space by the Jets fan base if Dach was actually offered and these negotiations are still going on. Dach was never offered and won’t be.
I fully agree.. I do think Dach will be the better of the two .. I just dont see them offering him up .. they do not have the roster depth to be in this deal atm

I’m thinking both Chevy and PLD are using the Habs. Chevy to get the best return possible and PLD to get the biggest contract he can.
And seems like Habs won't budge. We'll see this deal finalize soon.

And PLD is 25, so any areas L.A. has still to improve they gave plenty of time. Imo when these key core guys come available it’s smart winning teams that get them.

very possible woudlnt be the first time someone used us for a bigger pay

Damn you Dubois for teasing us if thats the case
PLD would be a great fit as 2C behind Suzuki. But if he’s getting the Horvat contract (68 million) then it might be a bullet dodged. He’s great but at 68 + million?

The notion that if Dach were offered the trade would be done is silly. Dach is not very good and the only reason anyone would take him is that on paper at least he's still young enough to turn things around. He only enters the conversation because Montreal doesn't have anything else worthwhile to offer.

Dach isn't a sure bet, but if you followed the Habs, you'd see that it would be silly to give up on Dach at this point for Dubois.

With the way Dach played last year, swapping him with Dubois doesn't make the habs better. It just adds a slightly older offensive player to their core at way more salary.

Obviously, the habs would lose out if Dach regresses hard this year and in the future. But based on play last season, I would say Dach and Dubois have equivalent impact.

Dubois is more proven for sure, but keeping Dach at this moment is a good gamble given his current contract and being a few years younger than Dubois.

Anyone trying to make it seem like Habs fans think that Dach is already a star is purposely exaggerating or they simply don't understand the current situation with his development.

Moving Dach for Dubois is a good fit for the Jets, but not for the habs.

I am quite interested to see what Kirby Dach becomes after all this MTL hype lol.

38 points in 58 games for a bottom feeder has taken him from potential bust to worth more than PLD. We shall see.
It's not that Dach is "worth more then PLD" but when you factor in the age difference and his contract for the next two years, given where the Habs are in their development curve, KD is unquestionably a better fit for them presently than PLD. It's not even a close call.

Hey now, his 5v5 production rates are up there with Eyssimont and Svechnikov. Didn't you like those two playing for the Jets?
