Nah I understand the salary component, without it nobody would even compare them. You forgot the salary component here. PLD @ 7M for 8 years is worth a lot. PLD @ 9M, not so much.
I think we could do better by just trading him as a rental..Jets better hope this LA deal goes through because its Dvorak/31st if not.
What a complete and utter nonsense post. The notion that if Dach were offered the trade would be done is silly. Dach is not very good and the only reason anyone would take him is that on paper at least he's still young enough to turn things around. He only enters the conversation because Montreal doesn't have anything else worthwhile to offer.
Of course you could. And you should. Will he sign a 1 year contract to help the Jets do it?I think we could do better by just trading him as a rental..
Sounds A LOT like Vilardi. Buyer beware. 19% shooting percentage? Good luck with that. lolNah I understand the salary component, without it nobody would even compare them.
PLD hasn't even got his contract yet, anything starting with an 8 is reasonable with the cap starting to go up again next season IMO.
I am honestly genuinely curious how Dach develops, I don't follow other teams prospects well enough but being traded early after being drafted 3rd overall and then having a mediocre season to apparently increase your value is interesting.
Damm, I knew Suzuki was as good as Barkov.Hey now, his 5v5 production rates are up there with Eyssimont and Svechnikov. Didn't you like those two playing for the Jets?
He's worth $9M if your team needs a center, based on a bunch of recent deals. If you don't need a center, it likely doesn't make sense to spend that much though. You forgot the salary component here. PLD @ 7M for 8 years is worth a lot. PLD @ 9M, not so much.
to be honnest with you i think he would be a better fit playing with Suzuki hes grit and style would be perfect for Nick and Cole and i remember watching him play for Canada last summer on the wing and he was amazing.St-Louis could have a different opinion but this would be my personal top 6PLD would be a great fit as 2C behind Suzuki. But if he’s getting the Horvat contract (68 million) then it might be a bullet dodged. He’s great but at 68 + million?

Sure, except nobody here is saying they wouldn't deal Vilardi for PLD.Of course you could. And you should. Will he sign a 1 year contract to help the Jets do it?

So basically a bunch of junk.As much as I don’t want to give too many assets away, I could live with my Habs letting go of Gallagher, Hoffman, Armia, Dvorak for Dubois.
Are you saying that Barkov and Suzuki had similar production rates 5v5? Because they didn't.Damm, I knew Suzuki was as good as Barkov.

This grid shows me that outside of goals, Vilardi and Dach are quite comparable. Habs fans know that Dach needs to work on his scoring touch. Here is a hint. Dach played most of his games on Montreal's top line and still only managed 1.35 P/60 in 5v5 play. If Montreal still had Kotkaniemi, he'd be a more attractive trade piece the Dach, but Vilardi is better than either.

I suppose it's easier for teams like MTL haha.Honestly, PLD is a good player but players like him move teams nearly every year (Brayden Schenn, Sam Reinhart, Kadri, etc). Why wouldn't we wait and see what kind of player Dach turns into and revisit a trade like this in 2-3 years if he doesn't work out. We should have a couple more top 10 ish draft picks as trade bait by that time as well, and hopefully will be in the same state that Los Angeles currently is in.
It's actually funny Montreal gave up on Kotkaniemi too early but I think they made up for it with Dach.
What kinda math are you doing brotha.I mean I know yall are talking 5v5 p/60 but Dach produced 5 less points in 24 les games.
Points per 60 has many flaws as a stat and can't be looked at in isolation.
So, Vilardi has 2.26 points/60 and Dach only 1.35 points/60 despite Dach playing a good chunk of the season the top line? Here is a hint. Those were Kotkaniemi's numbers. What kinda math are you doing brotha.
Dach 38 points 58 GP
Vilardi 41 points 63 GP
