Has anything actually happened in the last 16ish hours? Besides the continous pissing contest between Montreal and Winnipeg?

Lebrun released an Article in the Athletic that implies the deal still has quite a bit of work to do. While LA is the front runner, trade pieces are still being ironed out and before the trade could happen after that is done LA and PLD need to work out an extension and conversations between them haven't started yet.

Chris Johnston also released info saying basically the same thing and added Montreal is still interested.

Basically two big insiders came out and said the deal isn't close and Montreal is still involved but LA is the likely destination.

What kinda math are you doing brotha.

Dach 38 points 58 GP
Vilardi 41 points 63 GP

That posted was talking about Kotkaniemi for some reason

Nah I understand the salary component, without it nobody would even compare them.

PLD hasn't even got his contract yet, anything starting with an 8 is reasonable with the cap starting to go up again next season IMO.

I am honestly genuinely curious how Dach develops, I don't follow other teams prospects well enough but being traded early after being drafted 3rd overall and then having a mediocre season to apparently increase your value is interesting.
His season was hardly mediocre.

Here is a hint. Dach played most of his games on Montreal's top line and still only managed 1.35 P/60 in 5v5 play. If Montreal still had Kotkaniemi, he'd be a more attractive trade piece the Dach, but Vilardi is better than either.

Pretty sure that using stats to point out that Dach isn't as good as Habs fans say his is is a crime in Montreal

How many "bruh, do you even watch the Habs play.... intanginimables!!!!" posts are we gonna see?

Sounds A LOT like Vilardi. Buyer beware. 19% shooting percentage? Good luck with that. lol
If you watched Vilardi, you'd know he scores the majority of his goals from in front of the net.

He's got ridiculous hands and is lethal at net front. He's also not a guy that rips it from everywhere as he has great vision and is often pass first.

He played 40% of his minutes with Caufield and Suzuki.
The rest of the time it was a caroussel of Hoffman, Drouin, Anderson, Dadonov, Gurianov, etc.

I like Vilardi a lot, I liked KK has a habs (I don't like that his skating/balance is still an issue 5 years into the league), but I wouldn't trade Dach for either. I think Dach's ceiling is higher then both, specially projecting him as a center.

I suppose it's easier for teams like MTL haha.

We don't get many players here in WPG that want to come play for us that are borderline 1C's.
Its not super easy in Montreal and they have been passed over for more desirable locations but they really haven't had any issues retaining their star players (Price/Subban/Caufield/Suzuki) or secondary players like Toffoli/Petry.

Its certainly not Tampa or Las Vegas though.

Yeah honestly I was just giving it back a little bit. I'm sure he's a very good player.

If he wants to play this year, he should.
Well if this LA trade somehow falls through (I don't think it will) and if Montreal won't pony up to Winnipegs ask things might get interesting. A rental situation would have definitely worked out better for the Jets and the Habs.

I've liked him a lot since his draft year. I think the buyer's beware with Vilardi is the baggage of injuries he comes with. He wasn't healthy for yearS.

This is wild to me, like you are trying to trade a top 6 player with a history of requesting trades. I'd think you'd be letting him start talking to the team or give them some specifics.

He's going to be on live @ Leafs Nation in a few minutes. Even though it's a Leafs show it's title as a "draft week preview" I have to think as the big story right now the PLD situation (and others) will be addressed:

I agree. It drastically reduces return, along with just being a dick move.

You do realize Jets would never do that right?
This Habs fan certainly realizes that.
