Speculation: Pierre-Luc Dubois Mega thread. (LAK frontrunner, but Montreal has circled back)

I’m a firm believer in karma. If a GM isn’t going to negotiate in good faith, then it comes back to haunt them.

Like the Rangers this year when Kane forced his way to them. Congrats on getting a huge steal, I hope you enjoyed your first round exit. It’s a moot point though since PLD is clearly out going to the Habs, but people remember these scenarios.
Who didn't negotiate in good faith? Who will be the victim of this karma? LOL

What is this?

Yep, if Winnipeg was rebuilding(which many fans want but alas) Montreal would have a good futures package. But they want the younger NHL roster players which makes no sense for the Habs right now.
Without including the #5 (2023) or 2024 1st, I don't think the Habs can put together a very attractive futures package. Beck, Mesar, etc are B-level prospects that wouldn't be considered strong components of a major rebuild.

Does he have a NTC?
I believe he is a RFA and needs a new contract doesn't he? Maybe Vilardi isn't willing to sign an extension with the Jets? I am just saying my opinion this isn't some jab at the Jets or anything but the deal should have gone through by now after so much smoke a few hours ago.

PLD is also an RFA and needs a new contract.

Could the issue be that PLD thinks they should be called LES Kings? LA is singular.

This is the part that stuns me the most. Why aren't the Jets planning a rebuild and triggering it with the PLD trade?? Why not demand Byfield and other young assets? I like Vilardi, don't get me wrong, but i think the Jets should be rebuilding given the pending exodus of players that want out.
Because they are not trying to rebuild. They are trying to compete for a playoff spot next year (rightly or wrongly).

I believe the hold up is they are still negotiating the PLD extension numbers
