Um no it sure is not. He is paid what a player his caliber is paid.
He thinks every contract in the league is bad & he finds reasons to call every player mentioned in trade proposals a bad fit for the Sabres.

I'd personally be interested in Parayko - but he wouldn't be my first choice.

I wouldn't want to give up some of the packages we've discussed for other players simply because of the length of his contract combined with his age. I don't think it's close to an albatross yet - but it's one we'd probably look at needing to move on before it's expired.

In pure terms of the player i think he'd be a great fit.

Addison is available.
Addison is the last player BUF should consider. They have offense and PP ability, but need defenders with decent size with talent. They might be tempted by Faber, but I am pretty sure that the Wild would not do that.

Would be amazing for the Sabres to ice a duo of Johnson and Faber next year. That’s a pretty steady pair, with nice skating and puck moving ability to boot.

Just draft the best RD avail
And wait 3-4 years for him to develop, if he ever does?

That's not reasonable. Unless Reinbacher slips to 13 (spoiler: he won't), there really isn't a RHD that would be wroth taking at 13........and even if we did (or Reinbacher slips), we'd be waiting 3-4 years before the guy actually puts a Sabres jersey on.

This isn't the NFL or NBA where a guy drafted in the teens comes in and starts immediately.

What about both of buffalo's second round picks in 2023 plus rights to Ryan Johnson
For
Colton parayko.

Possibly a bit more

That would make a ton of sense for Buffalo. Yeah, Parayko's contract might be heinous at the end, but the cap will be going up and there's always teams to dump a contract/salary on.

Parayko is kind of a perfect fit and is exactly what Buffalo is looking for. Hell, I'd consider pick 13 for Parayko straight-up.

I have a feeling Ducks and Sabres are going to do business in the future. They both have what each other is lacking.

Not so sure about that. What Buffalo needs is a steady, defense-first guy to pair with Power (or a guy like that to pair with Dahlin so we can move Samuelsson with Power)........I don't see much of that on Anaheim's roster or in their system

I be cool with that. Possible to through ryan johns rights in. He is most likely going to be free agent.

Reinbacher will be in the AHL next year. Your timeline is a bit off but even 2 years is too far away.

He is playing against men in the top Swiss mens league. Its not that much of a jump to the AHL next year.

It's certainly possible that he comes over to the AHL. That would depend on him and his drafting team though. I could see Reinbacher wanting to sign a deal with Kloten (which wouldn't likely have an AHL out) or come straight over.

Haven't seen any reports on which way he'd go.

Either way, he certainly wouldn't be in the NHL for 23/24 and the safe bet is to assume he doesn't get more than a cup of coffee in 24/25. If he "arrives" earlier, great. Not a sure thing though.

I mean, if you guys have a good relationship with Brisson and you think he'll sign with you -- sure.

Maybe kick us back Ottawa's 3rd?

13 and Johnson for Parayko and Ottawa's 3rd?
That works throws a lhd kid ready for ahl to us another 1st round pick and clears our 6 mil in cap.

If we are trading away Johnson's rights then it might as well be Anaheim, LA or San Jose. I think those are about the only places he is tradable. I would add Minnesota too but the rumors about wanting to play out west where his father is are too strong to ignore.

Maybe someone like Matt Benning? Very nice contract, right handed. Would be a nice add. A bit on the old side but the contract makes it worth it. 3 years left at 1.25 is a steal.

NO way am I trading a 1st for that contract; we are doing a far larger favor for the Blues by eating that atrocious contract. 7x6.5 that primarily will run through his descending years is far from a 1st round pick value.

13th+VO@50%+39+joki and 2025 2nd for carlo?
God no, that's overpay to the tenth degree

Seems like Rosen is a solid prospect. I just don’t know about Olafsson being a piece that interests us. If it’s a cap thing then fine, that’s got to be accounted for in the cheques and balances of the equations but lots of people posting that RBA would rip his head off.

You guys definitely have a glut of good young forwards/prospects and, well not enough places to play them so there seems to be a fit. We just might want a bigger name like JJ or something along those lines.
I'm a huge JJ homer but Pesche would absolutely have to be on the table for him, though the 13 and JJ is to much so suddenly it becomes a different thread for me entirely.

Can **Defensive specialist/PK D-man** be added to the title?

Sabres do not need the Pionk, Faulk, or Andersson types.

Sabres need the Demelo, Parayko, Weegar types.
Andersson isn’t a pure offensive defenseman lol. He’s an all situations type workhorse like Dahlin.

Not the ideal trade for Boston but Carlo for 13th overall? Bruins need cap space. Maybe add pluses on both sides and add Coyle?

Minnesota wouldn't want Johnson! They are stacked at d, especially his position for now and the future

The bedrock of getting Andersson is Ostlund and a 1st. Probably would add a B prospect and a roster player too. And that’s if we got lucky.

I imagine Calgary would be gunning for Kulich or Savoie to go with the 1st. Or Peterka. But I don’t see Adams going there.
