Best I can do is about Three FiddyMatt Benning for 13 dollars.

If you retain 100%, and give us an additional 50% of his salary as an incentive, we'll consider it.The Flyers traded a 13th overall to the Sabres for Risto two years ago. What's the return policy like?
In 2 3 or 4 years. Buffalo is ready to break out now. Hence the veteran dman via trade and winger via free agency.13OA got Romonav last draft. Buffalo should be able to turn 13OA into a top four D man.
We need more guys like Boosh in the defensive lineup, not less. Boosh is a perfectly fine physical RHD who can eat PK minutes. We'd like an upgraded version of him to pair with Power.
Jokiharju would likely be fine with 3rd line minutes, but moving Boosh out to do that is kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I think the 13th pick can do better. At 30 years old, its not getting much long term value.my guess is murphy would cost something like the 13th pick with a high second rounder going back. Ie 13th for Murphy plus the 35th. he has 3 years left at 4.4
Parayko is 29 - not 39.I think that's it. 6.5 is a bit high for a #4. And for that price, you can probably find a younger guy that has higher value in a few years instead of having to pay again to dump him.
I get that we need to fill some holes now but I don't think we're in the stage where we mortgage several years of future just yet and frankly it's not necessary. We're not looking for a 1, 2 or even 3. We need a #4 for 2-4 years.
I don't think parayko at that price is the answer but tbh he wouldn't really cost what is being discussed here anyway. Let's be honest, he's an aged player on a team needing some youth and retooling that will clearly become a dump at some point in his lengthy contract. The blues have to move him in the next couple years or have a mess to clean up and that clock is ticking. Maybe for a playoff team with 2 more window years and worse draft order.
But lets be fair he is 30 before the season starts, in two weeks basically. Why would Buffalo trade for someone who is 30 years old, has 7 years left on his contract and its very likely his play will drop off in 2-3 years while the core of the team is around 25 years old and can compete much more than just 2-3 years.Parayko is 29 - not 39.
It's fair to assume he has more than one or two good years left in him.
That contract might end up being an issue but it would be far into the future - not any time soon.
I think you made up that entire argument against me but fun readParayko is 29 - not 39.

The last 1-2 years are likely to be a problem while the first 5-6 years are likely to be fine. But lets be fair he is 30 before the season starts. Why would Buffalo trade for someone who is 30 years old, has 7 years left on his contract and its very likely his play will drop off in 2-3 years.
His contract is an issue now that its an albatross around his neck.
Ya sure, point me out the 35 year old defenseman in the NHL where their play hasn't dropped off from when they were 25 and I will listen because thats what you are implying. Heck you are saying even when he is 36 he will be just as good as now. Its hard to take this seriously. The last 1-2 years are likely to be a problem while the first 5-6 years are likely to be fine.
You're acting like it's the inverse of that.
I already posted above that he wouldn't be my first choice. But if there are no better options available I'd happily make the proposed deal as opposed to running it back, having to rely on Jokiharju again.
I dont mind Joki as a third pair guy if that's all we've got, but IMO puck moving is the worst part of his game. He's not bad defensively, but he's not big enough to move anyone net front, and he is terrible with the puck if there is any pressure on him. I prefer Boosh personally. One of the worst penalty kill in the league. It's not just goalies. He's a 6,7 guy for depth. He had his moments and but Jokijarju moves the puck better and is younger. Keep in mind, he's 23. He still probably has an upside. Everybody seems to forget his age.
I can point you to earlier in this thread where people are discussing a 35 yo Jeff Petry as a viable trade option...Ya sure, point me out the 35 year old defenseman in the NHL where their play hasn't dropped off from when they were 25 and I will listen because thats what you are implying. You mean Pittsburgh fans trying to sell him.I can point you to earlier in this thread where people are discussing a 35 yo Jeff Petry as a viable trade option...
1 year left, you guys don't have cap troubles at all but Vancouver offers Tyler Myers at $3 million, will take even a 3rd round pick plus Jokiharju (I see in your team's season in review thread how many people are grading him around C/ D/ F level, and he has another year at $2.5 million so we'll take him off your hands to sweeten the deal). You guys can run for defensive depth:
Samuelsson - Dahlin
Power - Myers
Stillman - Lybushkin
Hell yes. He's available? Doesn't seem real.K'andre Miller for #13 overall? he is a left defenseman but would that work
Only 11% of NHL players are currently playing past the age of 33.The last 1-2 years are likely to be a problem while the first 5-6 years are likely to be fine.

Classic lineThe Flyers traded a 13th overall to the Sabres for Risto two years ago. What's the return policy like?
Not Risto but I wouldn't be against his draft brother Zadorov. One year left at 3.75. He's been improved in the last year or so.Bring Tyler Myers back to Buffalo, or maybe Ristolainen could be had.
