I wonder if Danault really thinks he's a #1c?
He scored 13 goals in a season twice, which seems to be his upper limit.
Only had 1 season with 50+ points (53).
Those are not first line C numbers.

He'll regret not taking that deal for the rest of his life. I hope Bergevin is smart and handles him the right way when time is right.

Phil would be best served to ask for a trade, things are not about to get better for him. What he thinks he is in comparison to what we are all seeing from him are two very different things.

Whether he askes for it or not, Bergevin should be on the phone right now trying to find a trade that works for both sides...the quicker the Habs get an asset or two for Danault, the better they will be in the long run...

«Il y a des vétérans qui étaient frustrés» - TVA Sports

«Pourquoi tu mets Kotkaniemi à 6 contre 5 au lieu de moi [Danault] qui tire l'équipe depuis quatre ans, même si ce n'était pas mon vrai rôle, parce qu'on n'avait pas de profondeur, mais qu'au final je l'ai fait pareil et je l'ai fait comme du monde?»

Don't know if Latendresse is friend with Danault but if that's how he thinks, what a shit teammate he is. No wonder he's delusional.
That wasn’t a quote from Danault but an opinion from Latendresse

I know but Latendresse has a podcast with Lapierre and it seems like they're friends with him from what I've heard. So it's likely that Danault vented to them behind the scenes.

I know I watch there podcast and yesterday they talk about it and he said that according to him that’s what Danault thought but it was according to him

Personally i would trade both Danault and Tatar for the best win now assets i could get. Losing both for nothing at the end of the season would be terrible. It will be hard to sign Danault and i'm not sure i would sign Tatar. Even without the two the team is not that bad and we will get something in return. We really need a LHD imo.

I'd want a young blue chip L or R PMD, for one of Dano or Tatar

The next couple of weeks could dictate what happens. Bergevin is all in to win and go deep into the playoffs. That's why he fired Julien and he knows that if the team falters, he's as good as gone.

With Danault, yes, he's not even close to being the player he was during the past few seasons. He might see himself as better (offensively anyways) than what management sees him. He's also probably pissed that management leaked that he refused a 5M contrat. Bergevin has shown in the past that any player that thinks himself bigger than the team is as good as gone. If Danault doesn't pick up his game now and if he becomes a distraction, he'll shop him for sure. His value has for sure dipped a bit but MB usually finds a way to get good value for his trades.

Throwing this out there ... Black Hawks??

Move pd our first, the draft sucks worse than chucks draft by all accounts, and see what a team would throw back in return. Dont even care if its a #3 dman that has the right nameld of course, or a center for pd. Wish philly was rebuilding becuase thete are 2 karacter guys on that team who would make us forget all about the black hole.

Seeing yourself as a good offensive player is all about numbers......no other way to describe it.
Phil does not have the numbers..............so how can he think he has a offensive role on any team. He is a very good 3rd line C and that's it. When he is your #1 guy you finish 24th and out of da playoff. The results are in, end of story.
Trade his a$$ out of town....he wants too much money, and too much TOI. He currently is not playing well and thinks he is?

Is there a list somewhere of the actual direct quotes that Danault has made concerning his ice time and usage... like is there anything besides that one article after the playoffs?

It's amazing how everyone here seems to depict him as some head-case malcontent when to my knowledge we have zero indication that he was never anything less than a model teammate.

If Latendresse is quoting Danault and not putting words in his mouth, indeed what a shitty teammate.
It's definitely Latendresse saying what he would have said if he was Danault. He's putting on a real tough guy act. What a douche, I would be pretty livid about this if I were Danault. Hope he calls him out on it.

I can't believe he's saying that and he's his friend... What was he thinking ? Now that I'm thinking about it, I would have no problem with Danault saying this in his private sphere.

It's no guarantee that Danault didnt say this either, but they are making it seem like it's a direct quote from Danault when it was just Latendresse talking out of his ass.

No, he's not an offensive force but he was a 50 point player. If he were to regain that level, and play like he can defensively and be better on the draws, he'd be a terrific third line player, even more. After the last couple of seasons, he was worth (as per comparables) the 5M offered per season. He's screwing himself by playing this way.

This is unfair for Danault. His lawyer would have enough proof to sue Lat for diffamation. He won't do it but I think the friendship is gone by now, I suppose.
Now with this invented quote, 85% might beleive it was fictional and 15% beleive it came from a direct talking between the two. Now the damage is done, Danault's reputation is soiled.

I said before that we couldn't move Danault because if we want to make the POs then we can't move such a piece. I assumed he would still be a decent player though, he looks terrible and hasn't scored in about 20 games. Move this guy already.
