Before. Was it before or after goalies learned their knees could bend?
They look so fragile and foolish, but you have to remind yourself that you can’t compare them to athletes because thats just unfair to them.

DL Hall is one of the starters who came through the minors with Rushman. I’d think they stretch him out to start. They are really high on him.Yennier Cano? DL Hall is supposed to be good, too
So I expect Ohtani and Yamamoto announcement together soon from the Phillies. Already had great news the other day that Kimbrel wasnt coming back.
There is no way they could sign Ohtani unless they either get rid of Schwarber or want him to play left field (please no). Him going to the Jays does mean Vlad Jr in the field, which isnt ideal.f*** I would be blown the f*** away and laugh at the same time going "f***ing what!?"
Typical Scott Boras move. He'll try to get Bryce money that he then can use as leverage on other contracts. Then he will use those as leverage to redo Bryce again since the original and any redone deal will be so long. He's already signed through the rest of his career as an elite player. Does he plan on playing at a high level until he's 40? 45? 50? I don't like this. Seems like he and his agent are just trying to milk the Phillies for a bunch of guaranteed post-prime money using his current popularity as leverage.
Thinking it's more of a only DH to save his arm for pitching. Is Ohtani really that much of a train wreck in the field that he would never put on a glove?
I saw where another plan for him once healthy is instead of him being a starter, you could put him into a closers roll. It would allow him to impact more games as a pitcher but also not have as much wear and tear on the arm. He's also injured so will be only a DH for 2024.
I think even for a superhuman like Shohei, playing the field on the days you're not pitching is a little too muchIs Ohtani really that much of a train wreck in the field that he would never put on a glove?
I saw former Mets GM Steve Phillips on Dan Patrick this morning. He was talking about the huge salary and how people always say "Well, the added marketing will make up for it," which is usually horse shit. But in the case of the Jays, the owners (Rogers Group) are a media company, and they actually can make a fortune from Shohei with broadcasting rights and other shit. So it's not far-fetched at all. The thing is, they have to agree to always wear their 80s outfits, because those things are f***ing beautiful.
I'm not sure people understand Ohtani's true popularity. LAA were running Japanese ads behind the plate. Visiting ballparks started running Japanese ads behind the plate too. Japan was broadcasting every single Angels game exclusively via Ohtani cam, even when he had days off. Just broadcasting him sitting on the bench. And people watched.I can't even fathom the amount of endorsement money Ohtani could make with all of Canada behind him.
Probably less than if he signed with a team like Mikwaukee, honestly.I can't even fathom the amount of endorsement money Ohtani could make with all of Canada behind him.

He's going to make tons of money for whichever team he signs with, but players get better endorsement deals playing in the US. Ask any Raptor or Blue Jay who also played in the States where their best endorsement money came from and I'd be surprised if any said from playing in Canada.
Ohtani is going to make bank wherever he goes.I dunno, man. Ohtani is a different beast.
Jeff O'Neil saying he knows guys at the airport, and there is something being prepped there. Also said security has been notified of something going on.
And 20 mins ago, SN added an impromptu baseball show to start at 5pm EST
Lots of signs pointing to him being a Jay
It’s a shame the internet wasn’t around when JFK was killed. Or maybe it’s a good thing. It definitely would have been an interesting time for internet sleuths and social mediaReddit thread I was just reading is tracking a plane that he is supposedly on that is headed towards Toronto..and someone affiliated with Ohtani's camp supposedly booked out an entire sushi restaurant in Toronto. I don't know how people dig up this information but it's amusing.
I hope this goes down. Could be awesome for Baseball in Canada and keeps him away from a Phillies rival. Maybe Montreal will get jealous and bring back the Expos finally! How about a team in Vancouver too?
