Can't believe Flyers went with Yeo. The guy had some good rosters in Minnesota and St. Louis but could do nothing with it.

St. Louis went from worst to a Stanley Cup after he left. OBC tenure is unreal. Once a member, always a member.

What does Mike Yeo bring though?
Never understood the Yeo hype.

Flyers hadn't scored 3 or more goals in 17 straight games going back to October 27th. Under the Yeo-led Flyers, they have scored 3 or more in 1 out of 1 games. It's just that it's 5-3 Colorodo right now lmao

Chuck Fletcher hired Yeo in Minnesota, so he will hire him here. It's not about whether or not he will be good. He won't. Fletcher just likes familiarity. We had Nate Prosser on the roster last year - arguably a serviceable ECHL defenseman - but hey, Fletcher knew him from the days in Minnesota, so he got to play.

Mike Yeo's Flyers were more enjoyable to watch than Alain Vigneault's, if anyone's wondering how far Vigneault has fallen as a coach.

More than a couple people have referenced Homer. He's gone. Chuck Fletcher is President/GM. His only boss is the CEO who represents Comcast, and he doesn't give a damn.

Less than a week after GM said everything is fine.
That’s credibility in leadership.

why do they keep the spin cycle on all these retread coaches.
I was just thinking back to when the Rangers fired Torts to replace him with AV. I think the opposite will now happen in Philly nearly a decade later.

Homers not gone. After his average career as a player ended he became coach. After doing a mediocre job as a coach he was promoted to GM. After doing a terrible job as a GM he was promoted to president. Where he hired Chuck Fletcher, who'd done as equally lousy a job in Minnesota. Buy hey, that's where Homers from so...

And all that less than vanilla work got him into the Flyers Hall of Fame. That's setting the bar for Limbo.

Now he's Senior Advisor to Dave Scott, who's as poor a hockey man as Holmgren.

Trust me, it's a nothing role. He does not have the power to fire Chuck. Also, your history is off. He didn't become GM until 15 years after he was coach. He was Assistant GM when Clarke abruptly resigned early in the last place season. He was promoted to President as a way to not lose Hexy(oops), which was inconsequential until Snider died, at which point Homer got a lot of power with ownership now indifferent.

Maybe the Flyers and Nucks can do a swap? That's the NHL way!

Hall of Fame coach + average quality players = mediocre team. The math never changes.

The Flyers need to do a complete rebuild. Bringing Torts would be good because he will tell you guys that the core is stale. There is nothing more to squeeze.

Mike Yeo brings a system... a system that cannot allow players to think or create for themselves, as those involve risks... Yeo and his system are very risk averse. Play his system.. and nothing else... or you won't get icetime.

He chokes out all creativity. He runs teams of Yeobots.

What were they supposed to do? They don't have a new coach lined up yet and Yeo was already there as an assistant coach. He might finish out the year since there's no way they turn it around with this roster but we all know he's not the long-term answer. It was easier to just slot him in as the interim HC until they hopefully find somebody worth hiring.
