Can we (Flyers) make a request to toss our roster up for grabs and file as a new expansion team in 2023?

I don’t care who has potential and who we lose. I need a fresh start.

So many Habs fans despise Therrien but during his 2nd tenure he had a better record as a coach than any other Habs coach in the last 30 years. His teams generally outperformed expectations. This board was jubilating when he was fired as if it would solve everything. It didn't.

For most of his second tenure in Montreal, Therrien had Carey Price at his absolute peak covering his ass.

Congratulations Flyers fans!

I think ....

Not sure Yeo is any better.

He kind of sucks.

Jumping out of the pot to hit the fire kind of deal.

Good luck!

I liked Mike Yeo in that presser. He was like "I've been around the block. I've had no success, but here I am. You can't kill me."
And Fletcher was like squirming, screwing up his face, like "i'm going to jettison you as soon as I get out of this room"

Oh no...

This coach is worse than AV. To show how bad he was his last two teams vastly improved without him. If Tocchet is not Flyers head coach, Tortorella behind the Flyers bench would be the best thing ever in terms of entertainment.

Hopefully the Jets pick up AV. But again, they'll never fire Maurice.

Flyers are a dinosaur organization with dinosaur coaching staff. They aren't going anywhere with Yeo either. They need a massive revamp
It says something that their hockey operations is currently run by GM and coach combo which failed at Minnesota.

AV is exactly what the Jets need, Helle is a HOF caliber goaltender which is EXACTLY the backbone piece a successful AV system.

Paul Maurice time is way past expiration date, but ownership and management love him.

Only read one page and see that everybody else seems confused about the Yeo hire. Glad I'm not alone. How does that guy keep getting NHL coaching gigs??

The Flyers have had the toughest schedule so far bar none. I have Hart in fantasy and I noticed that this guy seemed to start every game vs Tampa and Carolina. I looked up their schedule and they've played:
Tampa x 3
Florida x 2
Carolina x 2
Calgary x 2
Pittsburgh
Toronto
Washington
Edmonton
Boston
NYR
Dallas

They have to have the easiest remaining schedule in the league

He was already there as an assistant coach. Fletcher couldn't hide his awkwardness in the media conference because he's going to fire him probably soon.

i mean they probably could have gone with no one behind the bench, unless there is a rule saying you need a coach there, but they do have a game tonight and need someone there i guess. AV needed to go, but in away i am surprised they did it now on the back end of a back to back and in a stretch of 5 in 7 days

How many coaches have the Flyers had in the last few years? 5? 6? Like, how long are they going to cycle coaches and build teams the same way to cover poor GMing and asset management?

Vigneault is just half-way into his very lucrative contract and managed to rack up a Jack Adams nomination in his time with the team (he has the record number of nominations in the history of this league). He my not be perfect but he isn't the problem with this team.

Completely agree with you. I have been quite amused by some of the posts here recently in regards to coach V. Nobody is perfect, but he is a damn fine NHL level hockey coach. Most teams could do far worse and have worse currently than coach V. He won't be unemployed for very long if he wants. I will be shocked if he isn't with a new team by the start of next season.

The issues with PHI are with that roster and management. The coach is always the easiest to blame but at this point it's become a joke with how many coaches they have gone through.

They need a change in one-ice leadership too. Trading Giroux would benefit team and player I think.
