Noticed that Hurts was basically a decoy on the RO, I think they're taking my advice, don't get him killed. Overall, they're morphing to a more conventional offense, which is fine, b/c with that OL, they can run on almost anyone, and that will make play action more credible. Even threw a couple conventional screens.
Hurts did a better job staying in and moving around the pocket, learning on the job, but hung in there and made a couple real nice throws under pressure. I think this is also deliberate, he'll struggle the first half of the season and gradually get comfortable in a more conventional scheme. As teams have to respect his passing out of the pocket, it'll open up more space for QB scrambles b/c they won't be able to key on him as a runner.
They were missing three nickel CBs, Maddox, McPherson and Goodrich, and didn't miss a beat. Dean is also out. But Blankenship is a keeper, look for an extension as soon as he's eligible. Average athlete, but off the chart IQ, which is what you want from safety, the better athletes play CB.
That DL is better than last year. Hargrave was a good player, Carter is going to be a great player. Look for his snaps to gradually increase with Cox coming off the bench by the end of the season. Davis is a beast, and he's still learning how to play DT, Georgia basically just had him occupy blockers. And Tuo played his best game of his career, add Williams, Sweat, Graham. Even Smith flashed.
