Ok, it’s the start of Sicko season. What do we want to see happen this year? What are we worried about? What are we confident in that others aren’t?

I would like to see Hurts just get to roughly league average on non-scrambles outside of the pocket. They solved the MoF issue by getting AJ Brown. That’s the thing that will hold him back from sustaining high-end play, so that’s what I’ll be watching.

I’m worried about Jordan Davis. He just wasn’t very good in really any important way. I don’t even have interesting data or observations because there was nothing interesting about him on the field at all.

I’m pretty happy with the DB depth overall. I’ve liked a ton of the outside Corner fliers they’ve taken, including ones that have already failed like Gowen. Their Safety acquisitions aren’t great, but they make sense and they’re basically zero risk. I think they’ve re-oriented themselves in the Secondary.

1)The Chargers not breaking our hearts again.

2)Brady coming out of retirement and the media shoving him down our throats for another year.

3)Sam Howell will be more than serviceable as a starting QB.

In all seriousness,
1)Some dang progress on this IDL with the young rascals.
2)Starting CBs getting hurt and running with young guys with virtually no playing experience and question marks which is why we got them pretty cheaply.
3)Dean will breakout year 2.

I’d like to see Hurts start getting receiver reps. It could make him the rare triple threat and really open the playbook up

@flyershockey One preseason Snap and I think everyone knows about Jalen Carter.

Deuce Vaughn looks fantastic. This night rules so far.
Not watching because no TV coverage in Atlanta and not an NFL network subscriber. Went to Twitter, saw the clip, and thought, "yup, that checks out." Just an animal.

Edit: that was Ben Cleveland he tossed. Not exactly an undersized guard.

Yep. Made the Club + Swim look easy on a guy who has started games and is going into Year 3. That’s not easy!

Warning do not play the announcer drinking game every time they name a wrong eagle. It will be hazardous to your health.

Baltimore announcer.
If the eagles throw 2 more incompletions, Baltimore could use a time out to get the ball back

SNL gif. Maya Rudolph as Kamala Harris holds a half-empty martini glass which catches some of the drink that is spilling out of her mouth as she does a spit take.

@JojoTheWhale had no idea Jadon Haselwood signed with the Eagles. I remember that being a catastrophic loss for Kirby in that cycle. Then he flipped Pickens on signing day and I've never doubted him since. In fact, every time some in-state four/five star commits somewhere else, you can guarantee Kirby's just going to replace him with someone better.

I’m trying to imagine going back in time 3 years and telling myself I would be disappointed the Rams are playing Brett Rypien instead of Stetson Bennett in a preseason game. I really think he can be a good backup!

The roster decisions at outside Corner are going to be fascinating. I’m not sure how many of these guys make it through to the PS.

Ricks should have never transferred, but even with that mess, it’s still just about staying healthy. He’s the least likely to make it through.

I don’t have the stats handy at the moment, but wasn’t the eagles run defense really good when he was healthy / on the field and really bad when he was injured / off the field?

I don’t think he’s likely to be as big a force in the passing game, but with his size and talent I think he could be the best run stopper in the league. My only worry with him is his stamina / conditioning.
