Adam Silver learned at the right hand of the master. To have ever thought he was incapable of orchestrating this is foolhardy at best.

It turned out exactly as the league wanted. He's been a phenomenal commissioner so far.

Kudos to Hinkie, I know I gave him some ****, but it seems my information was incorrect. GMs and Agents didn't want to deal with him because they lost most of the time. Pioneer of his time.

If it weren't for the logjam at center that needs to be dealt with...BC could just go on cruise control for another season and Hinkie's legacy would still play itself out positively tbh...at least with the lottery picks (Lakers, Kings and potentially our own again).

Not sure if anybody remembers that Howard stern episode during the OJ chase where a caller pranked ABC news ....the guy was giving a bogus first hand account of the chase. One of his comments was "I see OJ and he looks scared." Well I see BC and "he looks scared" too...he knows his first move needs to be calculated. There is a lot this guy can do to set this team back. Let's hope he continues to be measured but at the same time I'm not sure he has the smarts and wile to make the bold moves Hinkie made...

This quote from the article just makes me sad. He deserved the chance to see it through.

"I think things are going to feel very different very soon for our fans, our players, our coaches, our staff," he said. "I think people haven't fully realized what different level of talent is about to hit our team in a variety of ways -- draft, free agency, trade. I think you'll see a real change in how we approach things going forward. We'll be increasingly focused on fit."

Hinkie may be my all time favorite philly sports personality. He was a genius and It was so nice to finally have a GM to be ahead of the game. The sixers are loaded now and for the future and it is because of one man.

We had Hinkie and Hextall......sad we lost one of the GM's that has been a trailblazer and a thinking man's GM.

Sixers in particular have had such crap GM's.....I mean Billy King etc....LMAO!

there is no comparison between the two. Hinkie in his short time was way ahead of anyone else in any sport. He took a team with 1 asset, a overrated all star pg and turned us into a team with cpaspace, and a ton of young talent and assetts.

True...but in basketball you are dealing with a smaller roster. Lots more moving pieces in hockey. Nonetheless, Hinkie was really a mover and shaker compared to Hexy

I really liked them both and no matter what happens Sam will get his due one day. As for Ron he is already a top 10 GM in the NHL and only going up in my eyes. The Chairman(RIP) left this team in great hands.

not getting russell hurt sixers a bit. It was there main shot at getting a guard. It kinda forced us to take okafor.

had we got russell, the log jam wouldn't be this bad.

Hinkie was far from perfect, but he left the organization in an astronomically better position than it was day 1 of his tenure.

Well, it remains to be seen hat Russell is actually better, no?

Okafor isn't ideal, but until Embiid proves he can play an NBA season...

what should hinkie have done to " be perfect"
His relations with the media were atrocious and that's pretty much the reason he's unemployed right now. Also, not giving an iota of effort in free agency for three straight years really hurt him. That pissed off agents and the league office. Teams like the Magic and Wolves can carry out similar rebuilding plans but they at least pretend to be trying, so they avoid criticism. Hinkie said **** all of that and drew a serious amount of heat for it. His sacrifice is greatly appreciated. He reminds me of the begining of Prometheus, he sacrificed himself so his species (the Sixers) could live on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB8cop0TLR0

Drafting Okafor, when they already had a perfectly capable center in Noel along with potentially Embiid. Passing up on Jordan Clarkson twice. Plus what Mr. Black said. All in all though he did a wonderful job.

You're right they should have drafted hezonja, i mean willie cauley stein, i mean mudiay, i mean stanley johnson.......

Jordan Clarkson is a pg that can't pass or a sg that can't shoot. he can't seem to make up his mind.

Who would you have taken, Porzingis? Still another big and you aren't taking Hezonja there...Okafor was the consensus #3 pick after Russell went
