Late to the party... but I'm pleasantly surprised BC actually did a solid job this draft. (1 was a gimme obviously).

Really like the Luwawu pick, and I'd be a-okay with trading the Furkan dude for Beverly if those rumors are still going on.

I was freaking out when I heard the rumors of the offer the Sixers made for the 3rd pick. Glad that did not come to fruition.

How much of an upgrade would Crowder have been over Covington in that hypothetical PHI-BOS deal?

EDIT: Not saying that deal was good value even with Crowder. Honestly, knowing how the draft board played out, there was really no scenario in which trading 24 and 26 made sense.

BC said something about trying to acquire a "non-traditional" PG. That sounds like Beverly.

Philly fans represented the team fantastically last night at the draft. Big time roars for all three picks.

Also saw some videos where they collectively laughed at some of the other picks as the fans of those teams hung their heads. Was hilarious. Sixers fans definitely did their team proud at the draft last night.

Still a candle holder to Hinkie...but fine with me....probably can put the Sixers on autopilot ...:sarcasm:

Colangelo disappointed at not making draft-day deal

"We didn't make a deal because we didn't feel like the right deal presented itself," Colangelo said. "There were some teams approaching us about some of our players, about our 24th and 26th pick that arguably could have gotten us into the top 10, but the deals that were presented, the assets that were asked for, the players that were asked for, we decided it was not in our best interest to move forward with those deal. By staying the course, we still have some things to do to this roster to make it more balanced."

Colangelo then revisited the subject of the disappointment of not making a deal.

"Not necessarily disappointed but it is not going to stop us from continuing this effort moving forward to try to get this roster put together for the start of next year," he said.

Yup.

Embiid / Okafor / Noel
Simmons / Holmes / (Saric)
Covington /
Luwawu / (Korkmaz) / Stauskas
Beverly / McConnell

Still need to deal a big if/when Embiid is ready, but given the strength of 2017 draft at PG and SF, that's a really promising foundation.

Luwawu will be SF not SG, and Saric can play SF/PF

I was there last night at Barclays. Sixers fans outnumbered every other team by far. Great atmosphere in the upper bowl. Lots of chants and cheers and heckling other teams and their fans. There were even some Eagles chants. Overall it was a fantastic night to be a Sixers fan.

It's pretty awesome next draft is guard heavy and we'll have the pick swap with the Kings along with the potential Lakers pick again.

Yeah, the pick situation is great and people seem to be excited about the talent. I plan to really dive into it and research the incoming freshmen soon. I know Josh Jackson was a really good looking SF but I haven't put much effort into it yet. The Hoops Summit is usually a good game to watch as a first impression.

I'll be totally honest - i just wanna know who our starting backcourt is for next season. It's a pain in the ass trying to play with Simmons in 2K with this current roster. :sarcasm:

Awesome. Hopefully its the last time we have to be in the lottery lol.

Also here's a Q, on the 76ers draft lottery party videos, why do all the YouTube videos have "Right to Ricky Sanchez" on em?

That's the name of the podcast with Spike Eskin and Mike Levin which runs the event every year. Worth a listen if you're interested in that sort of a thing.

Fair warning: VERY pro process. VERY.
