The same guy who traded forsberg for erat now trades suzuki and glass. You can’t make this stuff up, he really hates top prospects

I can't believe Ryan Ellis went this cheap, no 1st round pick, no, top prospect from Philadelphia, yes they got Cody Glass but that was from Vegas for Patrick, Ryan Ellis himself didn't get any high picks or prospects, Ryan Ellis himself went incredibly cheap

Flyers have to fix the D and still have question marks on goaltending.
Aging stars at forward with little to show for years is not a good recipe for success. But no question the Flyers D was a absolute joke last year so they had to do something.

People are just making shit up about Glass, so I'll fill you guys in. Injuries, roster decisions and cap issues have equally derailed his development. I also suspect offseason training advise(bulking up his slender frame) slowed him down considerably.

His 'compete level' and confidence were almost non-existent, and he's even seen a sports psychologist. When he finally got a chance to center the 3rd & 1st line, he didn't mesh with anyone and his playmaking ability was never utilized on the PP. Glass lost every puck battle, handled the puck like a grenade and was always a split second behind on every play.

I don't know if he could ever get his skating back to what would be considered average, but he's too talented a playmaker to not become a PP specialist. His iq, defensive awareness & vision are all great, but it's marred by his glacier-like skating & laziness.

His effort level even in the AHL at the end of the season was fading. Glass loves to check out by the 3rd period & go home early.

Hmmm not the same person..

Also "can't make this stuff up"??...what do you mean?? VGK has been a Cup contender since day 1 every year.. and he brought in the young player that was drafted in that same draft 2nd overall in this trade.

There is so much wrong with your reply its insane

I know this site is full of alot of people jealous of VGKs success, but cmon.

Lol only on hf would someone come up with a narrative like this. Tell me you've never played hockey without telling me you've never played hockey.

Myers is a fine, dime-a-dozen player.
He's gonna be in the NHL for years to come, but he's not gonna magically turn into Colton Parayko or something

The best part of this trade for Philadelphia is that, if Nolan Patrick somehow becomes a 60pt player, Nashville will be the ones that carry the burden of having traded him. Flyers will never regret trading him because they somehow turned him into a proven commodity high end RHD.
The worry was always "what if they gave up Patrick for a 3rd or 2nd and Patrick breaks out? how big of a f*** up would that be." They don't have to worry abut that now

I think Nashville did amazing. Flyers imo did not do that well. Myers had a tough year but he’s still really good and Ellis has a bad contract.

Good and young Rhd in Myers and considering Nashville has done this before with pretty good results.
