Not 1 2022 1st round has been traded yet. I think teams know that draft is the shit and are very hesitant to give one up.
That said, I think the Sabres should demand one as part of any deal for Eichel.
Philly didn't *have* to do anything. And I`m really struggling with how some of you actually can read and write if you cant separate trades. Ghost WAS NOT WANTED by anyone, so Philly HAD TO PAY to get rid of him.
26 years old that hit, block shots and produce around 40 pts a season with one of the worst if not the worst team of all time in the NHL.
If the Flyers can resign him long term, those picks don't mean sh*t.
They are in win mode now. Who cares about picks when you get a top pair D. Especially when you didn't trade all of your picks in the past.
Legit top 9, top 4 and... the question is in the net if Hart is ready or not to step up.
Great move.
They drafted enough good players since the 10's. They can try this move.
Chuck got his man!
Ristolainen is good offensively, can QB your first PP or 2nd unit, he's pretty good at cycling the puck along the blueline and keeping control. He just sucks defensively, like really bad.
Buffalo is clearly in a reshuffle/rebuild and Risto wanted out. They aren’t dumping him, I’m sure if he wanted to stay and sign next year they’d keep him. They need to change that room up too.
Assuming this build will fail because the old one did is ridiculous.
Hagg is at the end of his contract so can be traded for yet another pick at the '22 deadline.
So Fletcher gave up:
Shayne Gostisbehere · $4,500,000
Robert Hägg · $1,600,000
2021 1st round pick (PHI - #14)
2022 2nd round pick (PHI)
2022 7th round pick (STL)
2023 2nd round pick (PHI)
to bring in:
Rasmus Ristolainen · $5,400,000

Honestly the price is insane but Philly’s D is at least balanced now. Shipped out 3 LD, now have 3 LD and 3 RD. Lots of pairing options. Just need a cheap #7.
Guess we're back to the Holmgren days .....where it was absolute chaos
Every single GM in the league just called Fletcher hoping he's still on whatever bender gave him the confidence to pull the trigger on this trade.
I liked Risto. The only physical presence on the team with McCabe out. Didn't see any chance of him resigning next off season, so I was ok with moving on, but never expected a 1st. Adding a 2nd as well was a major win by KA. Not sure about Hagg, but maybe we flip him for 3rd at the deadline.
