The 2023 2nd hurts Flyers way more what the 2021 1st.

But RR55 is a really good defenseman, really good and strong skater, a physical beast, a threat,
has shown offensive side too, every now and then he surprises with his offensive skill set.

Its not like Sabres have been a good team defensively you know, i think Sabres made a huge mistake
letting him go, but Risto has said for few years wanting out, so there's that.

You can show all you want some silly advanced or what ever stats, those stats tell more about the Sabres what Risto
yes, i agree, he does make stupid mistakes, thats true, but he is wayyyy better what most say

Threads like these are an ultimate telltale as to why "advanced" stats are stupid and nobody should listen to them. He's a very nice piece and I'm glad for him he's finally out of Buffalo. Cheap price considering it's a 2021 1st pick and they're basically a crapshoot because there's little to none scouting material for this draft.

What is the Flyers plan? First, dumping Ghost cost them a 2nd. Now getting Risto and dumping Hagg cost then a 1st and a 2nd. Soon they will be out of draft pick.

Ristolainen is good offensively, can QB your first PP or 2nd unit, he's pretty good at cycling the puck along the blueline and keeping control. He just sucks defensively, like really bad.

26 years old that hit, block shots and produce around 40 pts a season with one of the worst if not the worst team of all time in the NHL.

If the Flyers can resign him long term, those picks don't mean sh*t.

They are in win mode now. Who cares about picks when you get a top pair D. Especially when you didn't trade all of your picks in the past.

Legit top 9, top 4 and... the question is in the net if Hart is ready or not to step up.

Great move.

They drafted enough good players since the 10's. They can try this move.

I liked Risto. The only physical presence on the team with McCabe out. Didn't see any chance of him resigning next off season, so I was ok with moving on, but never expected a 1st. Adding a 2nd as well was a major win by KA. Not sure about Hagg, but maybe we flip him for 3rd at the deadline.

Eat crow all the people who said over the years that Risto would not return a 1st.
The fact that Sabres fans were upset he wasn't exposed in the draft, tells you that his perceived value was low. By all reports multiple teams had offered their 1st. So good for BUF they were due for a win. Now they have to start drafting better.

So Fletcher gave up:

Shayne Gostisbehere · $4,500,000
Robert Hägg · $1,600,000
2021 1st round pick (PHI - #14)
2022 2nd round pick (PHI)
2022 7th round pick (STL)
2023 2nd round pick (PHI)

to bring in:

Rasmus Ristolainen · $5,400,000

Flyers fans right now:

Remember that Risto played sabres. Who has great stats in their defence? Relax a bit.
Yes it was overprice move but he's not that bad what some people make it look like.

Risto will be better now that he's out of Buffalo. The first round pick is surprising, but this guy is better than what he's showed so far.

Why, does the Flyers’ team physician know how to do a brain transplant? Risto’s asinine decisions were a cause — not a result — of the crappiness of the Sabres.
