To Philly: Gaudreau + Shinkaruk

To Buff: Gostisbehere

To Cgy: Reinhart + Schenn

Buff gets a 1LHD. Cgy gets good forwards to replace Johnny at a cheaper price. Philly gets the best player in the deal

This is absolutely atrocious. Why would Calgary ever touch this deal?

Pretty bad for Calgary, and I am not sure how Philly would feel about giving up Ghost for Gaudreau, so I would say that they say no as well, but Buffalo says hell yea

Really bad for us..

Any deal with Gaudreau would have to have major peices in it, and I get that Rienhart and Schenn are both very good players it just doesn't fit what our needs would be if he were to leave. Reinhart comes in as a Center which in a few years Calagry will be one of the deepest teams at center in the league, we need wingers. Schenn would be a good starting piece but Philly would still have to add a considerable amount. I think a three way deal with the Islanders maybe would of been a better fitting

I mean, I'd do it as a Flyers fan probably.

I also a very cautious Flyers fan (need more than one season to call Ghost a legend).

Philly adds Rubtsov, Myers and a 1st to Calgary's return and it's an interesting deal. Interesting, though still not good.

Philly doesn't add anything, because we're not interested in the deal to begin with.

Our team needs are, in order: Defense. Everything else will shake itself out thereafter. This, on the other hand, costs us a defenseman without adding one.

Not going to happen.

I did not know Gostisbehere was a future hall of Famer, the next Peter Forsberg

the point went way over your head. Philly traded a ton of top prospects/players for a player (Lindros) who was touted to be the next Gretzky/Lemieux. the equivalent of that type of player today would be McDavid. you're asking for a similar return for Gaudreau. he is nowhere near that type of player. he is not even close to being a generational talent. what you proposed was outright stupid.

At the time of the Lindros trade, they didn't know Forsberg was going to be the best player in the deal, either. Meanwhile, we already know Gaudreau isn't arguably the most impactful player in the league, which Lindros was until his brain was scrambled into oblivion. We already know Gostisbehere and Schenn are excellent players, and you're talking about Philly adding in our most recent #1, another talented defenseman, and a future pick for a player not immensely better than who we're already playing at his position (Gaudreau's better than Jake, but not by enough that it's a desperate need of ours to upgrade), a good prospect (which is as far as I'm willing to go with Shinkaruk) and the opportunity to substantially weaken the position we most need to improve.

Your suggestion is bad, and you should feel bad. Want more to move Gaudreau? Ask Buffalo, or better yet, ask different teams entirely. Philly doesn't want the original deal, let alone your attempt at highway robbery.
