So my guess is you're probably not sold on Panarin either, right? After all, he had quite a few years of 'professional ezperience' and then just 'randomly' popped up. So he probably won't do so well next year either, correct? Especially considering most KHL players are widely regarded as being well behind NHL players in development...am I reading this right?

Lets just say I like Panarin and Gostisbehere as much as you like Jonathan Cheechoo.

To Philly: Gaudreau + Shinkaruk

To Buff: Gostisbehere

To Cgy: Reinhart + Schenn

Buff gets a 1LHD. Cgy gets good forwards to replace Johnny at a cheaper price. Philly gets the best player in the deal

Why is Calgary even in this?
Try making a proposal that has Ghost being swapped for Reinhart

Curious, would you prefer Provorov or Juolevi?

Right now the older, more physically mature Provorov is better for us to have.

If Juolevi ends up being the better player 5-10 years from now I would not be shocked. He's a great D prospect.

I'd take both Gaudreau and Reinhart over Ghost, who's amazing also.

They are all exceptional young players. If you try and strip out salary issues (i.e. Flyers couldn't pay Gaudreau) and positional differences (Flyers really need D) which is extremely difficult to do, I think Gaudreau and Ghost are very similar players for their respective positions. Undersized, off the charts HIQ, true difference makers that jump off the screen when you watch them play. For those of you who don't get to watch Ghost play much, you tube some of the highlights and you will see why Flyer fans don't want to trade him for anyone, NHL network has him as a top 50 player in the league and he was ahead of Mc Jesus in the Calder. I like Reinhart and would definitely want him on my team but i think of the other two as more rare talents that are extremely hard to find.

In Philly a lot of us have followed JG's career because he is a local boy and know his game very well. D is a much tougher position to play in general and especially undersized and my biggest worry about Ghost is staying healthy. He tore an ACL a couple years ago and had abdominal and hip surgery this summer. He looked slow and winded in the WCH games I watched and it may take a month or so to get fully into shape. The Flyers have lots of young D in the pipeline and JG is one of a kind. I would LOVE JG on the Flyers and would trade Ghost for him.

I'd take this as a Flames fan if Gaudreau can't get signed. Not a huge fan of Schenn, maybe would prefer something else from Philly, but I think this is close. Maybe just take out Shinkaruk.

I think Schenn would fit the Flames really well. Good 2nd liner.

As a Flyer fan, I would do that deal as it is. As it does favor us heavily but, I am not adding much.

Provy without hesitation.

He was an overager when drafted

He was in his 3rd season in the AHL but his lack of games played made him eligible to be a "rookie".

Gostisbehere's Division he played hockey in looks not particularly strong.

I'm far from sold on him.

Lol....3rd AHL season you say?

He played 2 games in the AHL after winning the College Championship and being named MVP
Then in his 1st AHL season...got hurt after 5 AHL and 2 NHL games
Then started in the AHL since he had not played hockey in almost a year...called up in November.

You don't have to be sold on him. Like JG, he is not for sale.

Flyers wouldn't get even close to what most Flyer fans deem his value to be; he's not proven enough.

Maybe a down year this coming season isn't that bad, if he has a step back season his next contract would be a heck of a lot cheaper but if he has a strong season, his value would go up BUT he can start demanding big coin for a defenceman.

Fortunately, as has been stated multiple times, we don't have to worry about what his return would be, because he isn't going anywhere.

Maybe other people have different ranks for these players but I have it like this.

1) Gaudreau
2) Gostisbehere
3a) Schenn
3b) Reinhart
5) Shinkaruk

Calgary gets hosed because any team giving up the best player usually does, Philly loses the second best player plus a solid character player but adds the best player and a decent prospect, they can claim a win but Buffalo make out like bandits because Reinhart doesn't get them Ghost straight up as of right now.

Actually, Ghost and Reinhart have pretty close to equal value right now. To think otherwise is to severely undervalue Reinhart. It's a moot point, as neither team would make the trade for the other at the moment, and neither should.
