I'd be genuinely interested if Edmonton did reject that package because that's an insane amount of value for any team to offer.

Ghost - Likely a top pairing elite level offensive defenseman.
Schenn - top line winger
Myers - Looks set to be a top 4 defenseman
1st Pick (15-20)
Rubstov - Promising center

If Edmonton do reject it, i doubt it would be for value - more like for what McDavid means to them outside of hockey.

That doesn't get you close to McDavid.

I actually think it does.

Don't get me wrong; I'm a Flyers fan and I wouldn't do it. But it'd be ridiculous not to think it's close-ish.

And when I say I wouldn't do it, I mean I wouldn't trade McDavid for that package.

No way the Flyers do that. The value isn't too far off between Gaudreau and Ghost. No reason to add Schenn though.

Then you are a fool. Reinhart is a good player but you really should take Ghost over him very day of the week.

See, now we're getting into baseless slander. I'll take our #2 overall who had a great first pro season over your player with less draft pedigree but who also had a great first pro season. Value isn't super crazy far off, but yes, I value Sam Reinhart higher than Shayne Gostisbehere at this moment.

But, back to the baseless slander part. You're stupid and your mom is probably fat and ugly.

For what it's worth, I'd take Reinhart over Ghost too.

Why don't you pull up his peewee stats while you're at it?

There are several players with similar junior/college accolades who accomplish nothing in the NHL.

I can bet feeling extremely comfortable that his PP/60 will be less next season.

You'd lose that bet.

I'd take both Gaudreau and Reinhart over Ghost, who's amazing also.

Awesome, we can all keep our players and be perfectly happy that we have them then. Time to call it a day on this one then, since we all wouldn't trade our players straight up for the others, let alone add. No need to continue the pissing match.

What would need to be added to edler?

In my opinion? Nothing, its just not a good fit. Edler doesn't take us any closer to the cup than Ghost does. We need several good defensemen. It's best for the Flyers to stay the course and let the prospects develop. If everyone pans out fully (however unlikely), being able to trade away a top 2/4 defenseman of Ghost/Provorov/Sanheim/Morin's caliber is a good problem to have. But it isn't worth setting them loose now when we aren't ready to compete.

Lol...it's his college career and NHL career...what else can I show...his 21 AHL games where he got 15 points?

The ENTIRE point was that Ghost HAS been good against his peers. And us, I am sure there are others with similar Jr/college stats who have accomplished nothing in the NHL. EXCEPT GHOST HAS!

Curious, would you prefer Provorov or Juolevi?

That doesn't get you close to McDavid.

The only way McD would be traded by anyone is if he did a Lindros and flat refused to play for the team that drafted him. Under the (obviously unrealistic scenario) this package certainly gets you in the McD discussion

Again, the only way he'd be traded is if he flat refused to play for the Oilers

He was an overager when drafted

He was in his 3rd season in the AHL but his lack of games played made him eligible to be a "rookie".

Gostisbehere's Division he played hockey in looks not particularly strong.

I'm far from sold on him.

Your math on what counts as 3 AHL seasons is... interesting? Interesting to say the least.

So my guess is you're probably not sold on Panarin either, right? After all, he had quite a few years of 'professional ezperience' and then just 'randomly' popped up. So he probably won't do so well next year either, correct? Especially considering most KHL players are widely regarded as being well behind NHL players in development...am I reading this right?
