Screw Mikko, just move on Avs. This contract he's going to get is going to be a disaster for someone. If he really got Drai money man that comparison going forward is going to look insanely bad.
Damn straight. If Mikko was part of the solution he would have wanted to drive the second line to help the team.

I refuse to believe there is a winger in the world that deserves to play with MacKinnon and make equal money. I'm thinking there was one person only responsible for this shit. I can't imagine Andy Scott or Octagon being stupid enough to not see the writing on the wall. The fact that Mikko hasn't fired his agent yet, tells me this is what he wanted.

I'm going to miss him, but I'm not going to be longing for him or loosing any sleep over the fact he could be playing for Dallas. The dude already peaked and is on the down-side. I want to see him play against MacKinnon and Makar. He's going to get f***ed everywhich way but loose.

Once again, depends on what they get back. Because they were trading Necas regardless at some point. He was never going to re-sign there.
The Canes won't be getting anything close to what they gave up. A guy 11th in league scoring, Drury and picks.

That's a massive package even for someone with term, for a pending UFA it's one of biggest offers ever. Typically it's a 1st and some pieces.

Would Nashville be a potential player for Rantanen? Maybe something with Forsberg and ROR if they want to pivot from their current course? Not sure about NMCs. Maybe they waive anyway?

I don’t really understand NTCs but is there a chance the Avs could move on from Wood or Colton? I’m sure this horse has been beat to death, but how could they pull it off?

Did Drury play 4C for the canes? Is that why some here insist on him being 4C here too?
I think he was 'stuck' behind Jordan Staal as the 4C since Staal has been their perennial 3C since forever now.

I really dont think they knew what they had. He's been awesome for the Avs. I don't care if he 'only' provides Stephane Yelle type production - his two-way game is fantastic.

I'm way more comfortable paying Necas 12m than Rantanen. He's 2 years younger and hasn't mailed it in yet lol
It’s the play driving for me.

Rantanen likely produces more as an AAV than Necas will as an Av (maybe not), but the substantial difference seems to be that Necas can drive play by himself.

Makes him far more useful and far more helpful with roster building.

Should we actually wait to see Necas drive his line before talking about it? I mean yeah, he seems capable of doing it, but if Bednar is simply not going to separate him and MacKinnon it's kind of a moot point.

As long as he produces, we should be good. But his next contract could be expensive. Good thing is, with his skating, he's going to age pretty well I think.
