Ideally you want to have one at each position with a couple tweeners in there for call ups. The lack of depth on the big club puts someone like brown in the NHL where he doesn't belong. There's quite a few long term prospects in the system as well so they should thin out this year too.
Actually forgot all a bout Brown.

Thing is, your AHL team is vulnerable to injuries at two levels, the parent team and the AHL team - so you want some excess depth - especially this season when a couple callups after the TDL is almost certain.

So right now I'm thinking

Ratcliffe marody Foerster
O'Reilly Cates sandin
Lyksell destroyer willman
Deslauriar brown wisdom

York connaughton
Hogberg belpido
Ginning millman

That's the five guys with pro games in as veterans and a few to rotate in and out

Lappy is being himself already.

I counted about 9 regulars. Probably a couple more that should not be but will, i.e. McFadden. Let's face it Flyers suck from the very bottom all the way to the tippy top. There is not one redeeming quality about the organization. Even their mascot conjures up visions of mediocracy (grit - another word for no talent bue he tries hard and has a motor)

Pre-season for the Phantoms is similar, look at some of the guys who'll be sent to Reading b/c you may have to recall them in case of injury.

Just looked at my DVR and it recorded the Phantoms game from last night. Nice to see Kristi Fulkerson and the gang are back at it for another year.

Was a nice stretch pass by Zech to spring Foerster for the first goal.

Lol, Ginning stickhandled into the zone, turned it over, then took a tripping penalty.

Good centering pass by Ratcliffe to set up the second goal. Wylie got a secondary assist on both goal.

For those keeping score, Seeler was neither an NHLer OR AHLer just 2 years ago at age 27.
He looked clearly better than Braun in preseason and whatever the rest of these guys might be in the future right now there's a short list of prospects in competition with him.
