I though draft picks were valuable, so we should regret whiffs?
Millman might turn it around someday, but guys coming out of the ECHL are long shots by definition, Hodgson and Willman are exceptions, but you expect more from draft picks than guys you sign out of the ECHL.

You won't here them from me, this is a much better team than last year.
Caveat, maybe after they promote York, Zamula and Attard, and the defense is stripped.
Still, if they send Seeler down, Connauton, Wylie, Zech, they should be able to patch their way through the rest of the season.

The Flyers organization is whats going on.
If Cam York cant make the Flyers in his Draft +4, just imagine how long the NHL odds are for Wylie.
It's a one line team at forward and if the defense shows they're more than potential they will be called up. They should be a playoff team but anyone who thinks they will make real noise has a drastic misperception of the level of talent in the ahl

Ridiculous. It would have been a better plan for the organization to hire a coach to develop kids and not waste $5M and Dpicks to get a racist/homophobe.
I'd be happy with this D, which would get the same results as the dreck they are going to run out there:

What is the point of developing kids for several years then never letting them get a chance to play? Especially when York, Zamula and Hogberg all looked very capable in the their NHL call ups. Attard was good too, but needs some work on D coverage at NHL level.
So which 'kid' made the squad? The one who shouldn't have, of course.

Hogberg is a not a NHL defenseman, maybe a 7th down the road, but just doesn't have anything to hang his hat on.
Wylie has improved, but still a year or two away.
York, Zamula and Attard will all play for the Flyers this year, but the focus is more on developing them to start next season.
Andrae first has to show he's a top SHL player, then he'll come over and play in the AHL to adjust to the NA game, don't write him into the lineup until at least 2024-25.

Risto is a complete moron. No amount of development would have saved him. Allowing him to just be a big dumb offensive defensemen that needs a steadier D partner would actually benefit him more. He can't defend to save his entire families lives.

There is a world of difference between Ristolainen joining the Sabres as an 18 year old who was plugged into the top 4/bounced down to the AHL and someone challenging for a spot on the bottom pair in their D+3 season for the Flyers.

I don't understand, what was wrong with Ristolainen's development? He signed back to back $32 and $25 million contracts, and was traded for a 1st+2nd as a rental, because he's so coveted across the league. Seems like he developed well. York and Zamula and all these guys should only develop so well!

I hated Risto in his draft year so I don't think a different path results in a different player. He's a lunkhead.

Well, here we are with an unsigned Sanheim going into the season. I’d have to believe that he’s been given the Flyers best offer and has turned it down. If not it’s another botched situation created by Fletcher. There’s no reason to carry Sanheim through the season. When he hits UFA, he’s gone. He should be moved for the best return possible ASAP. Of course with Fletcher and based on the return for Giroux, the organization will get screwed.
I think the plan is to feed York big minutes while they sort things out on the big club. If provorov can get back to form with tda then they move sanheim but if not they re sign sandy and trade provy at the draft.

Don't think it's the Flyers choice at this point. Sanheim and his agent can see a nice bidding war on the horizon once he gets to free agency.

I'd be pretty pissed if I had to watch Provorov shit himself on the PP yet again, because he can't handle the ego check, while I'm in a contract year and the best offensive D on the team for multiple years now and can't even sniff a PP2 opportunity -- even with Cale York sent down.

Wylie stood out in the playoffs during his draft year against the Winterhawks when i caught a couple games. Nothing flashy but very steady. Thought it was a good pick and am rooting for him.
