Stankoven was right. There. For. The. f***ing. Taking….Was about to post this. Whole org is a joke.
2nd round picks you trade away to add a bad, injury prone defenseman, are guaranteed misses.Meh. Most 2nd round picks are misses. People just focus on the hits.
Don't write the kid off yet. Had a crazy year being bounced around and a significant injury. Might take him a while to get his head on straightMeh. Most 2nd round picks are misses. People just focus on the hits.

The mental hoops you will jump through to slurp Fletcher amaze me.Meh. Most 2nd round picks are misses. People just focus on the hits.
Stankoven is actually a center that projects as a winger because of his size. The antithesis of the guy they just took 5th overall really.Tuomaala didn’t even have a particularly good junior season. Compare his stats on the same team to Koivunen. Tournament evaluating, especially to raise value, is very often fool’s gold. Sometimes it’s the only sample I have, but I’ll almost always err on the side of “consider it, don’t trust it” across contradictory evidence. Both ways. And if you’re just looking at small sample points, forgettaboutit.
I don’t even think Tuomaala was especially good even in those games; I still couldn’t get a real read. He just skated fast and shot some. Flahrsy drew hearts in his notebook and dreamed of feeding him with a funnel.
First off, the team started off his “crazy year” by wasting a month in the AHL for 2 games. Secondly, what significant injury? He was just scratched a ton across both leagues. When the very next pick is the reigning CHL Player of the Year, who plays the same position, who we had ranked 30 spots higher, after this team has barely drafting recently, you’re getting criticism.
Stankoven is unlikely to be a NHL regular. There are Smurfs and then there are Stankovens.Stankoven is actually a center that projects as a winger because of his size. The antithesis of the guy they just took 5th overall really.
He's now below O'Brien on the prospect depth chart.Don't write the kid off yet. Had a crazy year being bounced around and a significant injury. Might take him a while to get his head on straight
or draft betterRatcliffe, Ginning, Tuomaala. This is why you trade second round picks.
Tuomaala has the speed and shot to be a scorer at at least the ahl level the question is can he mature both on and off the ice. He's now below O'Brien on the prospect depth chart.

College kids can't attend.Sorry for maybe some out dated questions. I was swamped the last month so didn't see much from training camp other than a few minutes from some of the preseason games. Did Foerster show anything that might indicate him being a call up this year? Does Wisdom have a future in the NHL? Was Cutter not at camp at all? I thought top picks, especially top 10 ones got a camp invite even when they know they aren't to make the team.
3rd rounders are what you wantRatcliffe, Ginning, Tuomaala. This is why you trade second round picks.
