That is generally the way the AHL works. Most teams have well-paid veterans, often on AHL only contracts, who see big minutes because they are the team's better players.I've seen all 3 games so far, as they have been on free TV. Let me say that I will not spend money to watch them. They play the same "system" as the Flyers - they get caved; there is no attempt to skate the puck into or out of the zones. Also, as with the Flyers, the coach prefers the slug veterans who get the choice minutes.
For whatever reason, they are generally not likely to play in the NHL.
If you look at the leading scorers on AHL teams, the majority have received little more than a cup of coffee in the NHL, if that.
