Thanks for this. Now i am really depressed.

Thanks for this. Now i am really depressed.

2021 pick signed to an ELC and he's a bust? These evaluations leave a lot to be desired and are extremely pessimistic.

Rasmus Ristolainen is hardly garbage.

Most draft picks are evaluated five years down the road.

He's a massive bust.

Ristolainen is a horror show and the team is better now than they will be when he's back. He's on the short list of worst dman in the league.

I have no idea why you insist on pretending you know more about the Flyers than us.

But i thought Brink and York was a good trade. #SARCASM

SIGH

600 games in the NHL but sure - he's not very good.

I used to wonder where sports talk radio found their audience.

Not any longer.

Sports talk radio loves Ristolainen, you really do have no idea what you're talking about.

He's not only "not very good," he flat out sucks. If not for badly managed teams his NHL career would be ended.

Former 3rd rd pick, depth for LHV, still young enough to have an outside shot at the NHL.
Zech couldn't buy PT,

Evan Barratt | 6 feet, 188 pounds | 2/18/1999

Where he’ll play this season:
Rockford IceHogs (AHL)

2022-23 expectations: Barratt looked like he could be a potential NHL player when he first joined Rockford, but he has struggled with consistency over his first two seasons and has been moved around the lineup. He often played in a third-line wing role last season. He finished with 14 goals and 14 assists in 63 games. For him to have a chance to make the NHL or even be a quality AHL player, he needs to skate with more quickness. He’s entering the final year of his entry-level contract and will be playing for another contract this season. It’ll be interesting to see how Barratt and other prospects are affected by Rockford having a deeper and more veteran team this season.

Led all forwards - including Josh Norris and Brady Tkaczuk - with 38 assists when he played for NTDP U 18 team (Quinn Hughes led the team).

Pretty good career at Penn State but not so much in Blackhawks organization.

Be interesting to see if Flyers can get his career going.

Doesn't matter, he'll help a LHV team that's 3 forwards short due to injuries on the big club.
If he becomes a marginal NHL depth player, that's still a big win given we traded a SFA who couldn't even break the LHV lineup.

One reason AHL hockey is more conducive to development is most games are on the weekend, so they have more time to practice during the week. They're not doing these road trips where you spend half your time in airports and driving to the hotel, and practice is limited to morning skates before the game, or home stands with 4 games in 6 days.

It’s not a great list. Injuries took their toll in several top choices. That can’t be a fault of the scouts in a couple of situations. Patrick is a case unto himself. Evidently there were red flags around him if someone wanted to dig down and find them. The Flyers just didn’t do due diligence there when they could/should have.
I‘m not going to kick them for “missing” on some players that they passed by when really the rest of the league did as well. What does stand out is a lack of direction within the organization for the type of player that they wanted in it. Hextall did have a plan that being to build from the back end up. He stressed finding goaltending candidates and defensemen. That was a wise choice considering the state of the club at that time. What is puzzling and annoying is that Fletcher/ Flahr don’t seem to have a sensible grip on the needs of the organization and a solution to resolve those issues. The ‘21 draft illustrates that and should be a fireable failure.

For most of their history, the Flyers have not relied on the NHL Draft as the primary source for building the team. The same applies to the Rangers, Devils and some other teams that have been good through the years.

Unlike football, successful franchises often used their draft picks for trade chips more than just to build the team.

Oh we found the talk radio audience alright.

I do this to offset sitting at a desk and naturally hunching over all day.

Oh, do you mean your on your stomach with the laptop in front of you? I thought you meant you were laying in bed or something with the laptop on your stomach. My buddy did that for a few years and now has a neck like 32 years older then he is.

That and the fact that, you know, the unlimited money and no cap ceiling.
