More than thinking he was a defensive specialist, I think he’s a 5th year senior that no one cares about. You don’t have to take in every stray. Meanwhile, you dump on one of the more productive players in college because of a 10 game NHL sample that has been passable at worst. I feel like that’s the wrong way around but hey.

Fletcher does love overage players.

Laczynski can't stay healthy since he turned pro, right now I'd just like him to shine in LHV and show some burst.

J Cates, Laczynski are bubble players right now, J Cates has improved over last season, Laczynski has regressed from two seasons ago before his injuries. Both are 25.

It would be nice if either stepped up, it wouldn't surprise me if both finish the season in LHV with Foerster and Desnoyers replacing them.

They need a chance to step up. Preseason (which is always a debacle nothing like NHL games) and a tiny handful of regular season games before sending them down is considered isn't the way to do that. It's bad development.

"Hextall!"

Foerster is a bit of a mystery to me - was actually far more impressed with Gauthier and Kaplan at development camp - though admittedly that is a small sample size and Foerster did play well for Canada.

Any early impressions from the first few Phantoms games?

I've seen all 3 games so far, as they have been on free TV. Let me say that I will not spend money to watch them. They play the same "system" as the Flyers - they get caved; there is no attempt to skate the puck into or out of the zones. Also, as with the Flyers, the coach prefers the slug veterans who get the choice minutes.
