You won't find a bigger Zuck fan than me. But all things considered I believe Smith is the better fit.

He's got better hands as you pointed out. They both are good players just way different.
I really like the looks of our 2hd line, they just gotta finish.

If he can't get it together we need to upgrade L3 wings with Poulin and a deadline Wing.
Not so sure Poulin is the answer. Rather give Zoho that opportunity.

If DOC is still ghosting it by game 15-20 or so, just demote+waive him.
This is the last season where the Pens have any hope to win anything. We don't need to be concerned about O'Connor's future. It'll be too late for us if/when he's ready to contribute in the reg season.
I would say DOC is the least of our troubles. Like 3 looked much better tonight, but still not good. Harkins brings nothing at the moment.

I've always been an irritational super fan of Big Z so ya I'm all in there. But Sully ain't ever allowing it.

Our top 6 doesn't worry me. Line 2 will get better and better.

At the very least, it shouldn't be too difficult to bring in a legitimate scorer or two for the bottom six near the TDL this year.

I would say that Raks is actually the weak link on that line so far and wouldn't mind the time-tested one-and-only Sullivan Adjustment™ but that pass for Malkin's goal was pretty filthy and you know his shots are gonna start going in, too.

I actually never hated Raks and Malkin together as much as everyone else. They're fine. Rust seems to have found his motor so far on L1 anyway.

I think as the season progresses and they learn how to play together more, it's going to be so f***ing great seeing either Letang or Karlsson on the ice pretty much every single shift. Then POJ isn't a slouch offensively either.

If you want to get an old team to play fast, you put those two out there at all times to move the puck up the ice quickly.
The puck movement up ice looked out of this world at times tonight. But let's temper expectations at this moment. The caps looked awful. If we have moments like that against younger and faster teams in the coming weeks then we can get hyped, imo.

Got a little lazy at the end of the second but wow was our f3 focused in the 3rd period. F3 was really shutting down and not getting sucked into the breakout. Holding ground with speed and being able to keep the weak side speed from the Caps alive.

For real. Not to be a drag but the Caps looked... dire. And Chicago probably isn't very good either and they blew that one.

Still nice to see the old dudes pop off. And even though he hasn't stacked the points yet EK has been a ton of fun to watch and should only get more comfortable.

First off this was a great all around game. I am obsessed with EK65. I love watching every shift, he's such a talented player that creates chance after chance.

DOC. I don't know. He's never sold me on being a good 3rd liner. Certainly give him his shot but realistically Harkins is way less likely to stick it out. I'd definitely prefer Poulin up on L3 at the moment.
not a big fan of either, but harkins has immense hustle. they just need any third guy who can make a play off of it. big z or poulin can do it. doc can do it but he really isn't showing it

Even if Smith's goal was in garbage time, it's a meaningful goal to me.
The Caps are my most hated team, so I appreciate him making the loss more embarrassing for them there.

He has 11 SOG in two games. Malkin has 10.

Obviously that kind of torrid pace can't keep up but they seem to be finding each other a lot.

This is what Wilson took offence to FWIW

Petts was friggin' ornery, tonight.

Having Letang and Karlsson on separate lines and able to make one man plays under pressure is the only thing keeping our breakout going imo, fortunately they're on the ice for 45 minutes+

Great game by Jarry. First period sucked but we played great from then. Defensemen made better reads at the bluelines, forwards applied some pressure off the puck. Lots of good things about tonight.

Carter made one good play all game doing the loop to the slot on PP2 and almost got a goal. More of that from everyone on PP1 please. Goals came from diagonal plays and taking the puck to the slot.

Whoever said we need more shots at the goalies feet was also correct.

Always a relief to have the other team roll over after a couple goals, for once wasn't nervous assuming we'd give it up.

And Smith - Geno connection is amazing to see. ++ For Smith finally scoring. Hopefully opens the floodgates.

To me, this was a typical Ovi game, except that he did not score. Lots of standing around and unstructured play. He is gonna get his goals. He always does. But man, his game is so aimless.

I don't think he ever was worth his new contract.

Still scores and you need players that score a lot.

He had that one good check on EK. Gotta give him that.
