Obviously a huge game from Malkin and Crosby. Malkin looked like he figured out time travel for at least one night. EK and Jarry great, too. Thought Eller has continued to be solid. Also really liked Nieto and Acciari. Penalty kill was very stingy. All in all really picked it up after a bleh first period.

The Caps definitely look like a team that has totally sold out to try to feed one guy's record/ego. I mean I guess I kinda get it but yikes. Wilson is a total joke.

Glad I didn't stay outside lol

895 goals just to get out of the 2nd round once.

f***ing el oh el.

Man Smith is just so much smarter and poised than Zucker. Really does a good job at finding soft spots and reading off Geno.

Caps fans love to act like Wilson would have thrived in the enforcer era but a real tough guy from that era would never do something as cowardly and embarassing as picking a fight with Marcus f***ing Petterson.

Probert? No way
Tie Domi? No chance

Chickenshit motherf***er.
Hmm, not sure about Tie.
He would be smarter and throw a concussion-inducing elbow behind the play as opposed to throwing punches.

Good for the Pens that Wilson doesn't have half the brain that Tie does.

I'm glad y'all got all that complaining out the last few days. The usual trolls will be gone a few days.

Nice game from Jarry. When he's on he's a really good goalie. This is great for his confidence.

I thought our top 6 stood out pretty well especially Geno. He's skated really well the last 2 games.

Eller Acciari and Nieto and Eller I thought all played well defensively and laid the body out to block shots

Graves/Letang still scares me a little but Graves did have 5 blocks so I like the effort.

Beating a dead horse but EK is great for this team offensively and the Powerplay.

Zucker more noticeable just cause he's always going 100mph and playing around the puck. Think Smith is more defensively responsible. That little backhand-forehand turn around the net he almost scored on was a high skill play. And that goal late was a f***ing snipe.

ideally we really need doc to be better, but if he isn’t? poulin should come up. this third line is capable of scoring
First off this was a great all around game. I am obsessed with EK65. I love watching every shift, he's such a talented player that creates chance after chance.

DOC. I don't know. He's never sold me on being a good 3rd liner. Certainly give him his shot but realistically Harkins is way less likely to stick it out. I'd definitely prefer Poulin up on L3 at the moment.

Uh.... Domi and a cast of other goons would absolutely destroy a non fighter.

I hope that goal broke the dam. I agree that he's looked better overall with Malkin than Zucker but up until that moment dude couldn't seem to put it away. They are much better at playing off each other. Too many times the play would die on Zucker's stick.

I think as the season progresses and they learn how to play together more, it's going to be so f***ing great seeing either Letang or Karlsson on the ice pretty much every single shift. Then POJ isn't a slouch offensively either.

If you want to get an old team to play fast, you put those two out there at all times to move the puck up the ice quickly.

Also lol at the ESPN announcers thinking it was Karlsson taking the puck off the ear and not Acciari. Yeah, Karlsson was on the ice with less than a minute left when the DC losers had that freak Wilson out there in the last minute of a 4-0 game. Really know the sport they are watching.

You won't find a bigger Zuck fan than me. But all things considered I believe Smith is the better fit.

He's got better hands as you pointed out. They both are good players just way different.

If DOC is still ghosting it by game 15-20 or so, just demote+waive him.
This is the last season where the Pens have any hope to win anything. We don't need to be concerned about O'Connor's future. It'll be too late for us if/when he's ready to contribute in the reg season.
Yes, he needs to take a decided step forward.

If he can't get it together we need to upgrade L3 wings with Poulin and a deadline Wing.
