When did Leon Draisaitl get traded to the Canucks???If he's asking for $14 million I'd trade his ass and give the money to Draisaitl instead.
Boston has no assets and are no longer a contender.

the canucks had the 5th best record in the league the last 25 games of the season.
Not bad but not great as the Canucks wouldn’t be getting anyone that can step in as a top 6 centre, which they will need in Pettersson’s absence. To Chicago:
-Elias Pettersson
To Vancouver:
-2024 TBL 1st round pick
-2025 TOR 1st round pick
-Lukas Reichel
-Nazar/Moore
-Allan/Vlasic/EDM
Most I would pay.
If Pettersson is gone wouldn't they move towards a rebuild type move anyway? Not bad but not great as the Canucks wouldn’t be getting anyone that can step in as a top 6 centre, which they will need in Pettersson’s absence.
They should but our owner has never committed to one despite the glaring need over the last decade, and every GM has been given the agenda to retool on the fly.If Pettersson is gone wouldn't they move towards a rebuild type move anyway?
if he wants to break the Bank, what do you do?Guys like him don't come on the market very often. I would be all in on acquiring him.
This guy is going to be the poster child for the new NHL. We will see how his situation is handled.
The problem isn't generally guys making that much.if he wants to break the Bank, what do you do?
14 M, 14.5 M, 15 M can handcuff the team for the 8 years he is collecting it.
I think everyone noticed that, top heavy teams were not that successful.. Yes, Vegas and the cup, but they buried serious cap dollars on LTIR..
Toronto, Edmonton.. and Colorado started paying serious coin... nada.. Calgary is now a sinking ship with its top heavy structure.

sorry, I meant poster boy for contracts and how they are handled.I disagree, Bedard is already the new poster child for the new NHL.

will he get 14-15 M ?
Or will teams reel back an hold at 12-13 to try and flatten their salary structure.
I believe that we are in a new NHL. One that is either NBA like..top heavy, pay serious coin.. or the exact opposite.. flatten high end contracts.
one of these two models will take hold.
part of the same continim. The problem isn't generally guys making that much.
Edmonton's problem isn't McDavid making 12. Its Nurse making 9.5. Hawks problem (at first) wasn't Toews making 10.5. It was Seabrook making almost 7.
Never really saw Colorado having cap problems, they just lost their captain and had injuries. Off year. Still were a playoff team.
Maybe he should be a GM.....it would seem he thinks it's easy.Don't blame him
This feels like more of a quantity trade where I think the Canucks would prefer better quality. To Chicago:
-Elias Pettersson
To Vancouver:
-2024 TBL 1st round pick
-2025 TOR 1st round pick
-Lukas Reichel
-Nazar/Moore
-Allan/Vlasic/EDM

Didn't realize a guy that was PPG in the AHL at 19 and 20 with a good NHL run last year was not quality. Moore or Nazar are both solid prospects as well. This feels like more of a quantity trade where I think the Canucks would prefer better quality.
When Seabrook made 6.8 he was already ass.Big difference. I'm pretty certain when Seabrook got 7M a year, the Hawks core already won their first cup of three. Seabrook then was miles ahead of Nurse in terms of overall play, it wasn't even close. Seabrook in his prime would be a #1 dman on at least half of the NHL teams at the time.
Oh right 2024 is the next draft, my bad.Replace one of the 1sts with a 2024 pick and the other 1st with a prospect /young player and it can be a good offer.
If Reichel were a center, sure, but he’s not. Also Nazar had a pretty tough season in NCAA, would depend on how they viewed him or Moore but I feel both are more likely 2nd line types than the 1st line potential center Vancouver would covet.Didn't realize a guy that was PPG in the AHL at 19 and 20 with a good NHL run last year was not quality. Moore or Nazar are both solid prospects as well.
I’d prefer a return that involves Moore, Korchinski, and Chicago’s 1st (can be conditional where it gets deferred to the next year at Chicago’s choice). That is more quality than quantity. And depending on the overall package and whether the Canucks intend to do a proper rebuild, we could take back Seth Jones as a cap dump if Chicago adds.Didn't realize a guy that was PPG in the AHL at 19 and 20 with a good NHL run last year was not quality. Allan/EDM/Vlasic is a bit of a throw in, but all have decent shots to be NHLers.
Then two firsts that will probably be between 16-28. Its got some quality, its got some quantity.
Still the best I think the Hawks should offer.
When Seabrook made 6.8 he was already ass.
Yes that’s probably easily the best offer in this thread.Oh right 2024 is the next draft, my bad.
Cozens, 2024 1st, Ostlund, Rosen/Savoie would work then?
