Miller has a history of having beef with his teammates. Bo, Brock, Petey are the obvious ones. So id trade him over Petey. A downgrade centermen and a 2nd pair RHD is what id be looking for. But theres no way id give him away for nothing or anything less than that.

The only teams that Miller can play for is winning teams, contenders. As soon as the team crumbles alittle bit, u see the worse in Miller it seems. Hes a heck of a player and can easily turn a playoff team to a legit contender.

If it's actually an option, Buffalo would be insane to turn down Cozens+Byram for Petersson. I would even do Power for EP straight up. This is the exact kind of big swing they need to take and giving up two mediocre players for one really good one seems to be a no brainer for me

I agree with the poster who said you do the nuclear option and trade both.
Or do the opposite and keep both.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt if some of the players hate each other. It might make the play harder, and better, if only out of spite.

I would rather have angry winners than happy losers.

You aren't getting two angry winners out of this situation though. These two guys can't co-exist. Value wise, you probably keep EP but that creates another set of problems because he's a malcontent.

It would need to be Tage+Byram.

EP is the best player in the deal

Mitts is fine but a 33 year old defender in Manson adds nothing to the value in a trade for Pettersson.
The plus would have been sizable, just wasn’t sure if Manson is the type of defender the Canucks wanted from a RHD perspective.

Is there anything the Avs could add to Mitts outside of the big 3 that would entice Vancouver to get this deal done?

Is EP40 considered a more desirable asset for the Sabres?

JT Miller is the more fiery type that you'd think the Sabres would need more. Of course the age issue is in Pettersson's favor, but l wouldn't say I fully trust his production going forward. Very moody player with a bad injury history.

Anyways, my take is that Cozens and Byram for Pettersson is a very risky move but one the Sabres should take, if available. And Cozens and Byram for Miller is an even more appealing move, also risky, but gives them the player they need the most.
If EP is the moody one then why was Miller the one to sulk and refuse to player for weeks? If I am missing something please tell me I am an idiot because i don't follow the nucks a lot so I could be way off.

Not the way EP has been playing the last year...he hasn't been playing like a 12 million dollar player.

Has something like this happened before where two star players can’t stand each other to the point of a trade?
I was working the Sharks locker room in the shortened 95 season and I am a lifelong Blues fan. I remember that Jeff Norton was a standup guy you could always get to answer questions after losses. Mid season Norton got shipped out for the Blues' Craig Janney, who showed up in the room spewing nothing but profanities throughout all his answers, things he knew the reporters could not use. But in retrospect, if my own teammate Brendan Shanahan f***ed my wife, stole her and then after a disagreement about it my company traded me 2000 miles away I might also be full of profanity.

As good a player as Miller is, no one wants that contract. Not going to be easy to move.
100 goals and 282 points in the last three years for a pace of 34g and 94pts per 82. Physical, responsible, and making $8m a year.

There will likely be some tough years at the end but $8mil is very reasonable for what he brings now.

The solution is so simple. You invite Miller to a party at X location, then do the same to Petey. Then when they get there, you lock em in a room and throw away the key until they can make nice. Standard sitcom problem solving. Is Alvin too dumb to see it?

…and what if somehow it was petey?
