Still nothing on the Media Notes section on the OHL site. Bulldogs play Wednesday so I imagine they are aiming for then
Thank you -I keep checking that media notes page as well.

I am a bit worried because of the preseason Page suspension-that was a major suspension for a minor infraction.

So these suspensions could be quite harsh

I personally have a feeling that they are going to be very harsh as well. the league will want to set a strong precedent that brawls like this are not wanted in the league so as a result suspensions could be quite lenghty

I suspect the suspensions will be lengthy, as well. To set a precedent that this isn't the 80's (or even 90's, early 00's) anymore.

Sherk and McCoy seemed to come to an agreement at the end of the scrum/brawl to get their teams off the ice. I noticed McCoy doing it, but Sherk deserves credit as well.

I think the harshish punishments will go to the Brantford players. I expect Xhekaj to get a lengthly suspension because he came off of the bench to go after Connor Lockhart. Lucas Moore could get five games for the third man in. Lawson Sherk and Noah Roberts will receive automatic suspensions. Konner Smith will get an automatic four or five game suspension for the two game misconducts. Brayden Velliaris will likely receive an automatic two or three games. I am not sure if coming off the bench is two or three games. The Petes coming off the bench misconducts are in a grey area. If Smith and Velliaris were coming off with the intent to celebrating the win and got involved because there were multiple players hitting Lockhart the league may be more lenient because they did not leave the bench with the intent of joining the situation on the ice but to join their teammates in celebrating the win. Jay McKee will receive an automatically two game suspension for not controlling his bench. I am not sure about Rob Wilson. I doubt Connor Lockhart and Liam Sztuska will be suspended as they did not receive a game misconduct.

Not sure the order for who gets first claim but maybe would be of interest to the Petes since they are a import short
The first teams that get to put a claim in are the current lowest place teams. There are several teams below the Petes in standings that have an open import spots. I am not sure if the Petes need another forward. I think the need is on defence. There might be a couple of options to potentially add an import defenceman in a trade that the Petes might pursue.

100% Petes should be all over Braillard
I’m pretty sure he’s an OA so he wouldn’t make sense for the Petes. They already have 4 as it is.
He’s a 2005 so would work well. He would be a perfect fit actually. Purdeller an ‘04 most likely would not be back as an OA, so this would give Braillard a spot for this year and next year and still give the Petes a chance to have at least 1 pick in the 2024 CHL Import Draft. Mike Oke if you’re listening, Leo Braillard would look great in maroon and white

Oh dear-
This doesn’t maintain the strict code of conduct enforced by the Page suspension.

That Brantford coach should be suspended - he let his players go

I am a wee bit shocked by the leniency shown

Why were did the Petes get double the fine of what Brantford got? The Bulldogs started and escalated the incident. First with Noah Roberts slash on Connor Lockhart then when Florian Xhekaj left the bench to go after Lockhart and finally when they left the bench to get involved with the melee. Up to the point when they left the bench to get involved it was just a few players involved the rest of the Petes were still celebrating the win. Why was Xhekaj not suspended for leaving the bench? I would thought he would have received a long suspension because he came off the bench to go after Lockhart. Was it because he did not get in a fight and Smith did?

Amen !!

I agree with everything you say - seems the league is inconsistent

I also think that Brantford coach should have been suspended

the league obviously does not agree with your view of the situation.

It would not be the first time the league did not get it right and favour one team over another. However the loss of players would is harder on Brantford as they will be missing half of their defence for the next few games.

This would be fair if the Petes got to play a game against them while they are missing their three Dmen

Peterborough, ON
or maybe they did, most fans have a bias look at things.
Objectively speaking, when teams win in OT they leave the bench to celebrate, which the Petes did. Smith got penalized for leaving his bench to fight but the context of the situation is that the whole team was on the ice to celebrate. So either the league should change the wording of the suspension to describe what they think Smith was doing to avoid this sort of controversy..
