Thank you for everything Connor! Easily one of, if not my favourite Petes players of all time and it was a pleasure to watch you grow and win an OHL Championship for this city. From the moment you got to Peterborough you played with as much 'hart' as I have ever seen and I can confidently say you bled maroon. You represented and fought for the Petes with everything you had every night and wore the Petes crest with so much pride. You played like you had been with the organization for your entire career and I wish you had been. Good luck and go get that NHL contract Locky!

I thought that the return for Lockhart was pretty low too but I assume that the 3rd and 5th round picks will be used as fillers in other moves.

I'm in the minority of fans who think that the Petes might not be big sellers this year as a way to maintain their top position in the East this season while also trying to make a few deals to boost the next two drafts. Oke might try for a balance of both strategies. That may be tough to do when a team like Missy or the Soo come calling for Beck or Mayer.

In my opinion the Petes can be a top 2 or 3 East Conference team even if they trade a few key guys.

Tucker Robertson update

• played his first regular season pro game for the Mavericks last night
• picked up an assist on a PP goal
• played RW and started the game
• kinda weird.....KC had only 11 forwards and 6 D dressed but had two forwards scratched with another on IR

It will be interesting to see if Tucker is in the lineup again tonight

ECHL only allows a max of 19 dressed per game, up from 18 just this year or last year. Most teams are icing the 11/6. Active roster is 21 or 22 with 2 or 3 healthy scratches every game.

Genuinely do not see Robertson coming back to the Petes. As much as we would all love him to be back and it would be a very nice and much needed offensive boost, Kraken can give him pro reps consistently with the ECHL. hope I'm wrong though lol

Still reallyyyy wish the Petes were able to get Gavin Lock to commit. Thought the OHL Championship would have helped but for some of the top Americans, OHL is just not the priority. There is still of course a small chance Lock makes his way to the Petes and adding a player that would have been an OHL first rounder if he wasn't American born in the 8th round, I hope Oke and co do there best to get a commitment. Carson Cameron, Gavin Lock and possibly another young player from this trade deadline (Caden Taylor SBY, Aiden Young SAG, Tyler Hopkins KGN, Nico Addy OS, Quinn Beauchesne GUE) would be a pretty darn good core of '07s to build around.

I think I’m leaning towards wanting Caden Taylor from SBY in a Beck trade. There’s rumours of him being a poor teammate but I think Wilson could get through to him… he seemed to really help Othmann and McTavish take off.

As far as a highly touted pure American goes, I genuinely couldn't tell you but we all know we haven't had great luck. However, that shouldn't completely stop the Petes from taking calculated gambles every now and again. Gavin Lock in the 8th round is worth a flyer every day and unless someone like Jamie Langenbrunner (my #1 choice) was named head coach when Rob Wilson leaves, I realistically see the mid to late round USA gambles from the Petes to continue and that's not a bad thing because all it takes is one to convince.

The last American they got to report to the Petes was Nick Robertson who they drafted in the 1st round in 2017. The last American free agent they signed was Greg Betzold. Prior to that they have had several Americans they drafted report and sign with the Petes such as Matt Herneisen, Adam Elzinga, Aaron Dawson, Patrick Kaleta, Zach Bogosain and Zach Tatrn.

Langenbrunner...what a player! I always feel bad for him (sort of, it's all relative...he did pretty well) because his 2 seasons here were in between title runs. He was so good.

He probably was one of the best Petes of all time. He excelled at both centre and right wing. The interesting thing is that Cameron Mann was very similar to him in his style of play except two years younger and took over as the offensive leader on the team when he graduated. Both were part of Dick Todd’s last draft as general manager. Dick really hit a home run with that draft.
