That was quite a game last night in St. Catherines. Even though Niagara got off to a quick 2-0 lead, the goals were a bit lucky. Niagara came out skating hard which created those opportunities though. The Petes were the beneficiaries of a few penalties weak calls bit couldn;t score on the PP but we had the momentum through most of the game.

Bowen had a shaky start but came around to play his usual solid game. Mayer, McCoy, Gauvreau and Cameron were very good all game and Mayer had his best game of the year and is largely responsible for the Petes earning the two points .

Shout out to Melee for being a steady, reliable all-around player, a difference maker. He and Beck and Dubois are playing a complete two-way game right now.

Petes keep it rolling.
5 game winning streak on the road to start the season and 2nd best winning % in the league at this point.
Hoping some good team bonding happened on the road trip.
Thursday/Friday home and home with Oshawa next week.

Owen Beck and Sam Mayer have been playing so well lately - their stock is rising; I just hope it's not a buyer's market come TDL

Impressive win by the Petes last night. It was tough to listen to the Erie play by play announcer, basically a cheerleader for his team and emphasizing every little positive thing that Erie did and there wasn't much for Erie to be positive about to be honest. Of course it was the Otters' third game in three nights.

Most play by pay announcers from other teams don't understand that a defense-first system like the Petes play is winning them games, it's not by chance or necessarily a result of poor effort of their team.. The Petes might get outshot and might even start games slow but their systems shut down other teams and the Otter get few quality chances. Quality goaltending is at the heart of it.

So the Petes' physicality and tight-checking style, strong neutral zone coverage, blocking shots, awesome penalty kill and good goaltending isn't sexy but as Bra Wavers said, the Petes have the 2nd best inning percentage in the OHL and that has mostly been without a full defense complement.

Kudos to the coaches and players for the success. The big question will be, are we still full-on sellers at the trade deadline?

I hope Liam Ladds gets back on the ice soon because this kid looked incredible in training camp and preseason from what I saw. Petes are in good hands with him and Cameron anchoring the right side of the D for years to come.

Regarding the Erie play by play guy he was tough to listen to but not near as bad as the Niagara colour guy on friday night, that guy knows everything, he could coach, referee and be a goalie all at the same time. I guess it takes all kinds and they are for the most part volunteers. As much as I don't like to see it happen the Petes have to be sellers at the deadline in order to be a strong team one to two years from now.

I still think Hamilton/Brantford has the worst play-by-play guy. I can’t even watch those games because he’s so bad.

hes very, very prop hamilton/brantford, to the point it gets hard to watch. i get that they are team employees, but at some point you need to give the other team credit as well

Does anyone know if Tucker Robertson has played a game in the AHL yet? What is the next step? A return to the OHL?

I see Zack Lewis is playing for the Caledonia Corvairs and has 10 points in 9 games. One would think he could have more of a impact and more upside then Binnie right now

Looks like Gauvreau is getting showcased tonight.....he has a little more jump in his game tonight - a few nice rushes into the offensive zone as well as some time on the power play and he just sniped!
