Guryev was a liability to our team.

He took unnecessary penalties and suspensions -but other teams were afraid of him.

Opponents would not start a ruckus or pull any shenanigans if there was a possibility that Guryev would be unleashed.

He was and is a loose cannon for sure but I feel his presence on our team (not on the ice) gave us some protection. Our boys could just play their game unscathed.

Now it’s open season on our lads
True I agree, but bottom line you need to grow a pair and stand up for your self!

Shane Write no thanks we need defenceman who can play good defence
Alternatively, Wright between Othman & Stillman which allows Avon-Robertson-Lockhart. Seriously.
Then complete the team with a big defensively able OA RD.

Has Othman-Panwar-Stillman as a line been used?

Issue is talent is there, but have gone cold. Robertson, Lardis, Lockhart have gone cold. Stillman not playing like 1st rounder, third and fourth lines playing most consistent in this stretch. Power play is biggest issue...1 nothing game and go 0-3 on pp. NB up 1-0 and ten seconds into pp score to go up 2-0. Elite teams win due to specialty teams.

Most teams' admin in this situation would take a hard look at the coaching but the Petes organization is run more like a family than a business. Not that that's a bad thing but at this point Mike Oke should be under some pressure to fix this. Bringing in Othmann was a gamble that still may work out but losing 4 of 5 with our lineup, someone needs to feel the heat. We may be brining in an OA defenseman soon anyway but If we keep losing, a new head coach after Xmas would bring in a fresh approach and might be what this team needs.

I agree with this and it feels like everyone has gone cold at the exact same time so hopefully they can all get hot at around the same time. 2019-2020 they did this exact same thing and looked really bad and then completely turned things around. On the surface this team should not be held back much longer and gotta think a big breakout/ winstreak could be coming. I do think that a d upgrade needs to happen sooner rather than later. Not even necessarily one of the star dmen but a jolt of energy and a new face I think could benefit things. Reminds me of Hudson Wilson/ Jacob Paquette/ Jack York in the '19-20 season.

I get the negative comments. I get the frustration….I’m frustrated too. This team, no matter what is looks like at the end of March, might not make it past the 2nd round. The East is so tough this year. However, this team could click in March, stay healthy and catch fire in the playoffs and go on a run.

When judging a team in any league, it’s never black and white…..it’s always grey. The Petes are not as bad as them seem right now and not as good as they seemed when they beat Mississauga.

In the big scheme of things, struggling at this time of the season is Ok as long as they are ready come playoff time. Oke has to be getting a clearer picture of where the biggest needs are.

Afternoon game today vs Ottawa after losing 4 of their last 5. Win or lose they need to compete. I’m hoping they play heavy today, match Ottawa’s speed and win the special teams battle.

Big game today likely with Stuzska in let’s see if they have anything left in the tank

This was a good team.
I understand fans blaming Rob Wilson -but I feel like it’s more Mike Oke than Rob Wilson.

We had a great team but then we gutted it with all these trades and I feel like that’s more to Mike Oke than Rob Wilson

Is the east really that tough this year? Outside of north bay and Ottawa and maybe Mississauga I don’t see any teams that should be beating the Petes

The Petes roster and coach is by Oke’s design. I would be absolutely shocked if Oke replaced his coach.

What? You’re saying the petes team was great before what trades the Othmann one and what else? When you’re going all in to win a championship unfortunately you have to trade a lot of assets that’s the only way to do it. And there gonna have to trade a lot more now as well but that’s the cycle of the OHL and next year they’ll be on the other side of it recouping assets to hopefully make another run in a few years.

Gutted?
Alfano & picks for Lockhart.
Panwar for a couple of disposable picks.
Then Guryev & 2, 3, 3 picks for Othman, an offer no one can refuse

I hear what you're saying but a majority of what Oke has got rid of is picks. Leading up to this season, only two regulars were sent out (Alfano and Guryev) and Lockhart, Panwar, Othmann, and Purdeller brought in. On paper we got much much better.

I don't think the East is that tough this year either. If this Petes team plays up to their potential Ottawa and North Bay should be the only real threats and even then, should be right their competing with them. That has been the issue is we are struggling to take care of business, and when you are slumping, every battle is uphill.

The east is as wide open and right there for the petes taking depending on what other moves they make

I agree in the sense that rosterwise the Petes are the best i think easily. But mississauga wlil make moves. Thats the team that scares me if they get a goalie. at least london is doing good now so brochu night not be available

Totally agree Oke and Coach should be feeling the heat!

Our defence is brutal , give away city, no toughness in front of net , Simpson being abused! Soft zone coverage, horrid getting pucks out and stupid stupid penalties!Tough to watch , Simpson even when we win has to stand on his head?Watch North Bays d simple plays, get pucks out , no stupid penalies! And tough in front of their goalie?
