Sudbury deserved to win. They worked harder than petes, and when you do you get lucky bounces. Full credit to them, they were the better team.

Congrats on a few lucky bounces. Win one lucky game and start running your mouth. Guess you have to celebrate the few times you get to.
What bounces you referring to. Maybe your goalie should cover his post and Pharand doesn't get the shot through. Bounces on both ends sure however Wolves got more because they pressured and played with pace the entire game. Even when down by 2 the Petes never had any control of this game. jmo

It's literally going to be their biggest win of the season because they get to stick it to big bad Stillman... just look at their reactions.

Do you think a single Petes fan would have gone into the Sudbury thread if the Petes won? No, because we don't care about Sudbury.

Let them have their win and don't engage IMO. Maybe revisit in the spring and see how things stand.

Seems like being named Goalie of the Week is not something ya want - back to back nods to Ranger and Simpson, Ranger gets the hook his next game, Simpson gives up 6, alt I agree about the strange bounces. Simpson is one of my favourite goalies to watch.
Congrats to McKenzie on his first win as a Wolves coach. Whatever side you cheer for, he’s a class act.

Sudbury was physical tonight and the Petes were sloppy.......I'm not sure if the Petes have been reading the headlines and patting each other on the back too much or not, but they need to remember what makes them successful - play hard and do the little things right.

Simpson was due for a game like this.
Wake up calls like this are part of the ups and downs of an OHL season........just a reminder to the Petes that they are not as good as they think they are.

Good news tonight.....
Purdeller scored twice........maybe this increases his value in a trade for Mintyukov?
Ottawa skunked 5-0 in North Bay
Petes can take it out on Oshawa tomorrow night

Kinda sad that they’re still pouting about Stillman requesting a trade last season.

I don't mind losing that game because Sudbury came to play and it's a wake-up call for the Petes. The Petes just came off a big win vs Mississauga and perhaps were resting on their laurels. Bottom line the Wolves defense was a little better than ours and they skated hard the whole night . At least two of the Wolves' goals were just plain lucky bounces but that's what happens when you work hard, the goals come. Time to shift focus on Oshawa and swing hard.
A bit of a trap game with ‘67s on the mind rather than a hungry wolves team.
Stillman has to treat the wolves like all the the teams he has not played for. He has struggled mightily vs the wolves.

Hopefully tonight they come out fired up after last night's loss. I assume Sztuska will be in net, they better tighten things up or it could be a lost weekend pretty quickly

Last night’s game was disheartening-Sudbury had their way with us -never backed down.
It’s been a very long time since I have seen a Petes team “beaten up” and I have never seen a Rob Wilson team take it like that
Our guys our tough but not like we were -

We seem to have traded all our brawn for slick scoring skill and no one is afraid of us -Sudbury took liberties with us and I feel it contributed to our defeat.

It’s definitely a different team to watch now

However I am really starting to love Lockhart -he was fearless in net after Simpson was pulled !

The physical play is part of it but not separate from skating with conviction and just plain hard work. I heard a fan say on the way out of the Mem Centre last night, "hard work beats skill most nights" or something to that effect. It's a wake-up call for the Petes and every team needs that. As deep as our lineup is, we need to do the work. And this group will work for it - we'll be fine.

Man you gotta be kidding me. I would like to take this opportunity to offer heartfelt thanks to both Stillman and Oke. We all wanted him out worse than he did.

Yes hard work beats skill and the Wolves have plenty of that to boot. Really enjoy your announcers. Not afraid to give credit where it’s due and not display blatant homerism (unlike our guy who is unapolegetic in his homerism. Very good tandem.

I've been curious about that, as a Ducks fan wondering where Mintyukov may end up. The Petes have a great team, and a solid/physical back end, but I noticed that you are right at the bottom in terms of production from your Dmen. As of of the other night, you were one of two teams who's entire D core was being outscored by Mintyukov alone. Probably less of a concern having added additional firepower up front, but is it still a

I think we have too much speed and skill and not enough beast and brawn

The Petes crapped the bed last night…...no doubt about it. I don’t think we need to go all chicken little though. This team has to learn to play with the target on their back……every team the Petes face will be fired up to knock them off. The Petes can’t afford to come out flat or play undisciplined hockey.

IMO the Petes are not as good as they looked vs Missy last week and not as bad as the 8-2 losers they were last night.

When you add Othmann every player gets excited about offense.
Players are looking to leave the Dzone early to get on the attack and if the puck gets turned over then the Petes are outnumbered, on their heels and disorganized defensively.

This is not who we are. The Petes need to wear teams down, play an aggressive tight checking style and take advantage of chances they create or PP they earn.

I know there is talk about Shane Wright being traded to the Petes but IMO Oke needs to prioritize a Dman add. The cost of adding Wright would hamstring the Petes for any other deals. It’s shaping up to be a buyers market. I’m sure the Petes will get better value by adding other players.

Upgrading Spearing is looking more and more necessary IMO.

Interesting game tonight – Ottawa coming off a 6-0 loss Thursday vs the Petes coming off their 8-2 shellacking last night.

Yeah the issue is that other teams are pumped up against the Petes and we need to get pumped too and go hard every shift. The defense definitely needs to step it up and also get some targeted coaching to neutralize the other team in our end. Stuzka was soft on a few goals but nothis fault there was so much pressure. Getting smoked by Oshawa is the tonic we maybe need to get our sh** together.

Not that it makes up for the first two games this week, but Petes gotta win tonight and battle Ottawa hard from start to finish. Cant get caught flatfooted from the beginning, have to be ready from puck drop to the final buzzer.
