After the Windsor game its an easy stretch with Oshawa/Saginaw/Niagara/Erie/Kingston/Kingston. Going 6-0 there and we should be getting home ice advantage in the 1st orund
While in theory the petes should beat kingston everytime they play each other - that's not been what has happened on the ice. Additionally the way the Generals have been playing the past 10-12 games and your 6-0 prediction is not a good one.

Has anyone heard if Shane Wright is playing tonight?
In this Peterborough Examiner article yesterday, Mike Davies interviewed Marc Savard and he said that he believes Wright will be playing

Oof that’s brutal by beck on the first goal he’s right there but doesn’t even take the stick of the Windsor scorer man he hasn’t been effective for the cost they paid

Beck has been average, Othmann has been below average, both Hayes and White have been average at best. Lardis and Panwar have looked great. JVV has had an increase in PPG.

At what point is it the team in some way and not the players? Seems like the players that left are flourishing and the players that were added are regressing.

I’m not one to blame the coaching but the reality is, I can’t help but endorse the narrative on this thread regarding the coaching being horrid.

lots of power plays in 2nd and the elite skill of some of these players is showing. Even Beck and Othmann playing well lol. Robertson is on fire with the puck steals and the forecheck in general is relentless.

Lardis and Panwar are receiving more ice time than they did in Peterborough and are top guys on PP1.
With Lardis in his draft year and Panwar looking for a pro contract, both guys have something to prove and are taking advantage of the extra ice-time.

JVV has an increase in PPG because he is getting more ice-time (not on the 4th line like he was in Peterborough), he's playing his natural position (C), he's playing with the RW who he played with all of last season (Martone) and he's getting more PP time.

Have the newly acquired Petes played as well as we expected? Ha....not even close!
But Oke didn't trade for them to go on a regular season win streak.
I'm not judging anything until the playoffs get rolling.

They have definitely struggled, but when you add 4 new players who are top 6F and top special teams guys to ANY TEAM, you have to be patient. You can't help but have growing pains.
Screw the regular season results....... focus on the process and the progress as the chemistry grows.

btw, I'm happy that Lardis, Panwar and JVV are having a good run with their new teams; but the playoffs are a different beast, a grind. It cost a lot, but the Petes are much better built for the playoffs now than they were before the trades.

IMO......it's not the coaching

Did Wright play? I sure didn't notice him.

Where’s Melee?
Maybe the staff saw him turn one too many beautiful opportunities in the slot into a scrum in the corner. I respect his defensive game but when he has the puck... woof.

Speaking of... nice goal by McCoy to ice the game tonight!

I agree that Beck did not look good on the Windsor goal but from the Petes overall I saw lots of positives

- The special teams were solid tonight Petes' PP......3/6 Spits' PP.........0/5

- Simpson was steady and confident

- Team chemistry seems to be improving; when McCoy and Smith scored goals and the rest of the team was losing their minds with joy for those guys, I could sense a strong bond there

- Othmann, Othmann, Othmann.......great game!
He was a team best +2, had 3 assists, and 0 PiMs, but the thing that impressed me the most was what he did with 5 minutes left and the Petes leading 3-2. Othmann entered the Windsor zone with the puck, gently dumped it in the corner and went to the bench for a change. He didn't attempt a low % pass that could easily be a turnover, he didn't try a between the legs drop pass that could have been turned over and he didn't try to dangle his way through the 3 defenders closing in on him. He actually READ THE ROOM! He realized what the game situation actually required. He didn't try and dress up the play with a fancy move. He made the smart play that would most benefit his team and help them win the game. That's what the Petes consistently need from him.

Now don't get all full of yourselves!
It's one game and you did not outplay Windsor by a score of 6-2 even though that was the final score.
Aim for consistency now. Show up for a full 60 minutes in Oshawa tomorrow night.
I think @Generalsupdates will be betting on the Petes on the puckline (-1.5) so they will have an unexpected cheerleader tomorrow night. Don't make the poor guy sweat; make his bet a no-doubter after 2 periods and win it by a landslide going away.

What makes you think that?

Crazy that you're talking about a 20 year old 1st rounder to the NHL lol

Great game again. Nothing better than putting the boots to the Gens in their building.

Sad that the Petes start playing well and there’s crickets here…Anyways, hopefully they keep momentum rolling.

Othmann with 2 goals, 1 assist and a fight........Gordie Howe hat-trick!!
Even though Beck continues to struggle, I'm impressed with the consistently good play of Robertson, Avon, Lockhart and Stillman.
The Petes are doing a decent job of playing physical while staying disciplined.
In their last 3 games the Petes have had 19 PPs for and only 11 PPs against.

Not perfect but the Petes are improving and more consistent.
Well done.........take the weekend off and we'll see you all on Monday at practice.

3 in 3 next weekend including a road trip to Niagara and Erie after hosting Saginaw on Thursday.

That was a good test for us last night to beat the Gens in Oshawa after a statement win against Windsor. Winning streaks have been few and far between for the Petes. Ottawa also beat Windsor handily. Might go out on a limb and say the OHL champ is a team from the East again this year.

Othmann needed a game like that last night with the Gordie Howe Hat Trick though his fight was a bad choice taking on a 4th line guy from Oshawa. But Othmann is a heart guy who tries hard and I like that. He fed Lefebvre a beaut for Chase's 2nd goal of the season. Local boys Stillmann and Avon continue to tear it up and pick up points. Simpson is playing consistently well again and it looks like the decision to play him in all the last three games was a good one.

The defense is playing a quiet, reliable game which is also an improvement. Probably the biggest reason we are winning.

ALso good news is that we can slot in Purdeller for Melee and we're still okay. We're deep up front.

I and others have been critical of the coaching prior to this win streak and for good reason but they have made adjustments and it appears to be working.

Kind of looks like they'll be 4th place. 3rd is out of reach, and I doubt they'll drop back to 5th. It will be nice to have home ice in the first round. I'm curious to see what Mississauga looks like, particularly with Martone and Van Volsen. I hope the Bulldogs don't get up to 5th. We've seen them so often the past year, I'd rather they play the Steelheads in round one.
