Only way he plays for another team is if the Leafs refuse to give him any offer. I did mention it in another thread as well, him and his wife are both locals. They want to live here, retire here and raise their family here. Unless he gets absolutely no offer at all, there is a 0 percent chance he leaves Toronto.

My sister worked with his wife and before he signed in Toronto she came to the hospital she works at with her resume, citing that the decision to come to Toronto is mainly a family decision. They're both locals and want to live here, near their families and raise their kids here.
So unless Toronto refuses to offer an extension, he won't leave. He might even take a bigger bargain, something like 4x5M. I don't see him going anywhere and we're not getting a better 2C on the open market.
