The Petes played pretty well tonight and even in the third were mostly the better team, until they weren't.

You could take tons of positives from that game, if they hadn't played like dog shit for the ten before it.

The ones that they used when they rolled Oshawa last Thursday.
Avon-Robertson-Lockhart
Melee-Beck-Hayes
Othmann-Dubois-Stillman

CAN WE PLEASE KEEP THESE LINES

The stupid drop pass entry does not work and they need to move on from it. I also can’t understand why Mayer got most of the PP time to start the third. Mayer is not as good on the PP as he is making plays 5v5. Wilson said in the paper that he wanted an offensive Dman and he got one but then doesn’t use him on the PP like he should.

You are so right (and funny!).

I Totally agree with you about that drop pass.
It is bad-so bad.
So poorly executed -I don’t see many teams still making this play these days.

I think Mayer is doing better. He seems to have a great shot from the point.

But that drop pass play is so bad!

The Petes have elite forwards but other teams are well-coached to neutralize our offense. So we shoot from non-dangerous areas.

The Petes defense are coached (I assume) to back up and allow opposing forwards to enter the zone and shoot or set up. That's what led to the winning goal. Simpson isn't corralling shots allows rebounds so it's a perfect shit storm of poor defensive strategy and less than stellar goaltending. Smith, Mayer and Guryev used to clobber opposing forwards when they stepped over the blue line. Why did we stop?

But these shortcomings are on the coaches and in a perfect world Oke is quietly recruiting our next coach and dismisses Wilson and Verner.

Hate the loss, but dont mind the game. It was playoff hockey. had two breakaways and Zanetti open net to pull ahead and didnt. Maybe thats their goal, end up in 8th and play ottawa first round. Prefer that to Missy or hamilton.

Every team in the OHL (and NHL) uses some version of the drop pass/Slingshot PP entry... And league wide PP scoring rates have never been higher.

This is how it is done.

You clearly don’t have a clue. Petes lose 4-2 vs Hamilton (with and empty net goal against) two of the three goals let in by the Petes goalie were incredibly soft those two goals lost us the game.

Game Vs Guelph. Petes lose 5-3 (with an EN against) Simpson literally gives Guelph a goal in the first two minutes and then let’s in a horribly weak unscreened soft slap shot from the boards above the circles.

Petes win both games without the soft goals against. We don’t live in the past of the beginning of the season, we live in the now and it’s about what you’ve done for me lately.

Also, you’ve been saying for year how much you dislike Oke and want him fired but can never back it up with and reason or substance. You also NEVER say ANYTHING positive about the Petes.
Lmao yeah im not a fan of Mike Oke , just dont think he does a
Third line on for all three goals against, basically unplayable against a top team. The balanced lines were abandoned pretty quickly but not surprising with the idiot behind the bench.

Anyone putting that loss on Simpson is... well, we can all see who it is.
thankyou

Just because they looked good in one game (which they lost) doesn’t change the standings over the last 52 games and last 10.

They are trending to out of the playoffs. They are 7 points out of 9th with the Wolves having two games in hand. They are on pace to be in 8th in less than 10 games at the current pace.
Thankyou you are correct

Petes will win tonight then somehow find a way to lose tomorrow my prediction. They seem to play better against top teams and worse against teams below them almost reminds me of the leafs lol
Ditto for Sarnia. You go on the northern trip vs NB,Soo & Sudbury & you think you will get 4/6 points & maybe beat NB.You beat NB & then lose to the other 2.I was thinking about the Sarnia(insert your team here) vs Leaf comparison the other day too.

"Here's an Otter mic'd up". Thought you meant an Erie Otter so I'm like "who cares?".

forgot what it was like to win. Much better game tonight. Solid structure and breakouts. Need this team every night. Hopefully Beck doesn’t get too long of a suspension

Wasn't that hit surprising coming from Beck. Looks to me like he is a frustrated young man.
