Dubois probably won’t either but the point is they can only keep three and the three they keep would not be heavy value on the trade market outside of Lockhart If he returns.
Purdeller is an 04

Goalies aren’t typically worth a lot as OA’s. 3rd and 5th is typical for solid ones. More if they are a big name but I don’t think Simpson falls in the big name category. No Team Canada experience etc like DiPietro as an example.

He won’t likely move the needle on pick recapture.

Lockhart, on the other hand, may garner as much as two 2nds and two 3rds? That moves the needle.

Depending on his playoff performance Simpson should bring back what costantini did at minimum or what Guzda went for last year but ya Lockhart would bring back a decent return

FFS.......For a guy who scored 50 in Flint last year Othmann really doesn't like shooting the puck.
I'd love to think he's saving some goals for the Petes' 2nd half  but I'm fine he if he uses up 2 or 3 tonight or in the WJC final........especially now that we know the Petes can rely on Panwar for some goals!

I’m very interested in what will happen with Lockhart. Even with the great season he’s having I still think it’s a 50/50 chance he returns or doesn’t. I really don’t know what to think. Would be great if he’s back to potentially garner 2 2nds 2 3rds but I really don’t know what’s gonna happen

Can’t see him playing in the ahl next year

So are we talking Vancouver signing him and letting him play in the OHL or not signing him at all
If they sign him, hes gone. NHL teams dont pay guys a salary to play Jr hockey for Jr hockey coaches. They have them play under their pro coaches 9/10 times

Hes also not getting traded for 2 2nds nad 2 3rds as an OA @OMG67. Almost nobody goes for htat much as an OA

If Lockhart returns next season, he will likely return as a 90 point player. I think whatever Avery Hayes is traded for this season is likely what you see for Lockhart next season. I believe that package I suggested would be close depending on whether an OA also comes back in return.

I've learned to not project OA'S getting increasingly better after their 19 year old year. A lot of them return contemplating their life choices, become disinterested with the fact their dream seems to be seemingly slipping.

My experience:

Zach hall 81 to 70 points. Missed a lot of games, looked more disinterested up until game 6 of 2nd rnd of playoffs.

Mitch Theoret - 60 points to 53 points. Became sluggish, got slower. Moved down to 3rd line playoff time.

I've seen more people regress than improve the past few years in a Barrie Jersey and thats a sad statement.

**cough cough.. tyson foerster**

Foerster played right after getting cleared from shoulder surgery (with 2 games left in the season?). He was not fit for the playoffs imo.

I thin k for this exercise, we do need to project the return he would garner at the deadline. The whole point of what the Petes are doing now relies on them selling next year. To recoup assets used this year. He’d likely be one of their main pieces if they trade Lardis and JVV this season in an all in push.

WOuld also be foolish to think Lockhart could do on his own what hes donig with Avon and Robertson beside him.. He wont have them there next year. Intead itll be young guys

True but that is the same for Humphrey this year in Hamilton. He was a point per game guy last season playing with good players. This year? Not so much. Is it because he isn’t a good player of because he’s got no one of any quality to play with? Hamilton still got an ‘06 1st from him and Winterton. A solid return based on what those players did last year, not this year.

I think other OHL teams will take this into consideration next year assessing Lockhart and his value.

You need picks for Wright? We got ‘em. We’d be happy to take McCoy and or Lardis off your hands. Or both and we can kick in an 03 3rd line Center and an 03 DMan….

Yeah, in the context of the OPs suggestion, he was suggesting moving Lardis/McCoy to bring back picks so Peterborough could complete the JVV + picks for Wright deal. I suggested Kingston would prefer the JVV + Lardis + McCoy for Wright.

No offence to Lardis meant but I think Kingston would push for JVV, even if it meant less picks.
No way. They are going for the mem cup next year, they want Lardis especially since he has played with some of the kingston players on U16 team. potential 2nd or 3rd round nhl pick over rookie player for a team going for it. Theyd want the established player.

As well to the Soo comment, no one is giving up those three picks for Wright....Thats like 7 2nds, 8 thirds considering going rate for players traded so far, if those players were traded for picks on the market. Too much for Wright.

Not sure about that. Lardis is better and more valuable than some think. Soto-5th, Lardis-7th, Outwater-10th are all at least familiar with one another while they were with Oakville.
