I don’t care if it’s the only move the Pete’s make. Shane Wright and Othmann best friends together could be magic to watch in maroon and white
Ya ngl that was pretty sick watching them skate around together at the end. And then Bob McKenzie mentioning Peterborough as a potential destination for Wright

And how happy/giddy Othmann was for Wright when he scored. It’s one thing to be tight with your teammates on team Canada. But they are legit like brothers. You forget how young these kids are then you see those two together they’re like little kids so happy

Would definitely be interesting and instantly become the most loaded top-6 in the league considering they're one-of already. (Avon, Robertson, Stillman, Wright, Othmann, Lockhart) Although, the down-side to this is no added D as it's likely a steep price for Wright.

Is there enough trust in Simpson and the D core to shut it down in tight games? Or are you to hope mass-scoring brings this team to a championship? I'd dump picks into thickening the back-end and not acquiring Wright. The connection would be great, no doubt but defence (generally) wins championships and it gives me vibes of Kingston's team last year... great O, lacklustre D.

The D is pretty solid in terms of taking care of it's own zone. McCoy is one of the best defensive defenceman in the league, Smith and Mayer are big guys who can clear out the front of the net, Spearing is a D first guy who's value comes from PK and down low physicality.

I think the Petes need another puck moving defenceman. Zanetti is the best we have and he's pretty good but beyond him, it's Guo, who is starting to come into his own but is very unproven and again Mayer, who is effective by carrying the puck for zone entries/exits but not as much passing.

I do worry a bit come the playoffs that this D could get pinned in its own zone on occasion without one more guy to help in transition, which is why I'm still hoping for Gavin White at the deadline, in addition to a centre for Othmann (perhaps Morrison in the same move).

Sorry guys. I can’t help you out with mock/fake insults because it is considered trolling. I was warned today. I hope my “lucky rabbits foot” mock/fake insults stopping don’t end your winning streak. I’d like to help you out but I can’t…. Clearly the mods only look at the individual posts and dont’ understand the context. Is what it is.

Thank you for all the insults that helped our lads play strong -your intentions were positive

I'll just add to this, that the right forward addition, like the best two way centre in junior hockey, for instance, would probably go a long way towards improving this as well.

While I wait, not so patiently, for OHL GMs to conduct their business let’s take a look at the Petes schedule coming up.

- They have now won 7 in a row (after losing 5 in a row).

- Last night’s game was the first of 6 consecutive home games.

- Oke will be adding at least two new players to the team by January 10th with 4 home games after the TDL

- after that it’s a Fri/Sat road trip Guelph/OS

IMO this sets up really well for the Petes. Most teams struggle after the TDL with lineup juggling trying to create chemistry.

The Petes will have the luxury of being at home. It will be 4 games in 8 days but none are b2b and it will be SAR/NIA/KGN/OSH. This will be a great opportunity for players to get used to each other with a day to practice and tweak things between games.

With many teams loading up and the Petes depleted draft picks it’s hard to imagine Oke hitting two home runs with his trades, but no matter what, this team will need to be in top form once the 2nd round of the playoffs arrive. The top 4 teams OTT, NB, PBO, BAR should get by the 1st rd without too much trouble and then it will be heavyweight matches the rest of the way.

They are fortunate not to be in the West where a good team will definitely get knocked out in the 1st round.

Haven't heard anything on that front. Only thing so far is that Wright is almost 100% confirmed to Barrie

bar be going after del mastro next
The only slightly credible Del Mastro rumour I heard was to Sarnia but there is a ton of hesitation from the Sting on giving up Martone in a deal. Barrie has the assets (both picks and players) to make both a Wright and Del Mastro deal no problem

The only landing spot that has been “rumoured” is Sarnia. Mississauga has not even made any deals etc that suggest they are trading anyone.

However, we have hadd some rumblings out of the Ottawa media that Ottawa has two star players coming in (one Forward and one d-Man). The validation of what constitutes “star” wasn’t defined but if we are to assume there are two big name star D-Men available, DelMastro and Mintyukov, you have to assume they are talking about one of those two. So, I would assume Ottawa is getting one of those two players. That said, if the media person is being some what generous with the meaning of “star player,” it could mean Morrison and Grushnikov. Who knows.

All this to say that there is no true defined landing spot for DelMastro and no real sense of whether Missy is even trading anyone.
